Haven't been on here long, looking for suggestions on a tubing bender to do up to 1/2 od tubing. If there is already a thread on this, could someone give me a link to it please?

Does 3/16",1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" tubing, even steel tubing. !/2" pretty much requires a dedicated bender. Where are you located, think I have an extra 1/2" I could part with, it's a Ridgid I think.

Im heading to ny in the summer. My plan is to pick up the hf roller type model.. read on here a few times that it does a great job.. regardless of which model its important for thinner wall section tube that the outside diameter is controlled during bending. I have a ram type tool which works fine for thick stuff but kinks anything less than 3mm wall..
Old thread, yeah, but I am also looking for a bender to bend some 3/8" chromoly tubing. Does anyone have any suggestions between the several hundred dollar Imperial benders and the plastic Robinair in the link in post #4? I would like about 1" radius bends. What have people had good luck with?

What's the wall thick. of the chromoly tubing? Seems unlikely it would be harder to bend than common SS tubing, long as it is tubing and not pipe. I've bent 3/8" stainless with the Robinair, worked very well, just have to hold 1 handle in a vise, as it's shorter than most dedicated 3/8" benders. It's definitely up to the task though. A dedicated 3/8" bender like an Imperial is a better way to go, but almost everyone who's tried the Robinair is pleasantly surprised at how scary good it works.

I have a set of KD tubing bending pliers and a couple of Ridgid benders. I like the Ridgid better for the most part. The KD are fine in tight spots for making adjustments and smaller OD tubing.

^^^THIS!!! Specifically, the Imperial 364-FHA line. Get one for each size of tube you plan to bend. Hint: used ones are on ebay for a fraction of the new price.
