Have 4 tubular rivets to put into a parts washer I am restoring. I'd rather use a tubular rivet like below which is what came out than a pop rivet. It holds the lid latch which is plastic so I'd also rather not use a pneumatic rivet set. All that said I thought something would be for sale locally but not having much luck. There are sets up to $100 and all sorts of solutions if one wants to wait for 2 weeks to get it. I may need it this weekend. Last time I did rivets I used a ball bearing in the end to get it started, then used a flat tipped punch to finish it. It works but looks home made. Anyone have a suggestion or know where to find a hand punch quickly for these things. HF doesn't seem to have the tool either - at least I could not find it. The rivets are like 1/8" od and maybe 1/4" long. I grabbed several different sizes from the hardware store (Ace), and they don't show a tool online.
