I got the light gray "marquis" pattern. It's raised enough that there is texture to the floor, but no so much that any of it has an "edge" to the pattern. My toolbox rolls great on it, and stays in place without locking it down.
The most expensive is "premium" in any color and texture you want they offer. Next cheapest is stuff on sale - this is limited patterns and textures depending on what they have that are over-runs of larger job. This is what I got, I'd prefer the dark gray smooth, but the light gray makes the garage brighter, and appear larger than it is. The cheapest is "recycled" which is only black (I believe), has all the same features, water tight, easy to install etc.
Prepping the floor really is sweeping and vacuuming, that's it. The flooring isn't attached to the garage floor at all, so if you damage a tile, pull that tile up and drop in another. Trimming the edges around the baseboard can be done with a jig saw, I found it easier with a straight edge and a utility knife. The tiles lock together with no glue. If you move, you could literally pull up the floor and take it with you if you want.
I know guys like their RaceDeck floors here, I'm not knocking them, nor do I sell or have a vested interest in either RaceDeck or TuffSeallTile. I live outside of Chicago, and I park my truck, snow and all in the garage every night in winter. I needed something that was water tight so I could squeegee off the water. A quiet floor that was low maintenance going in and living with it is what I wanted. TuffSeal is water tight, RaceDeck isn't, I didn't want to pull up the race deck floor and clean water from under it, nor contend with mold if it accumulated. I wanted an easy prep flooring, TuffSeal fit that as well. Easy to replace tiles if they become damaged, check there as well (note I don't have an arc welder or anything like that in the garage). Quiet - this floor is dead quiet, no squeaks, no hollow sound, no click clack when you walk on it - nothing. I got a sample of the RaceDeck floor and didn't like the noise when walking on it.
The draw back to TuffSeal is the cost, it is more expensive than many other floorings. But as compared to a commercially done epoxy floor, no more than $400 dollars more than epoxy flooring I was quoted. It will not be your cheapest option, but as they say, you get what you pay for. If I lived someplace warm with no snow RaceDeck might be a option, but the noise wasn't something I wanted.
For me and my situation, it was the best choice, and I haven't regretted doing it at all.
