Tuthill / Fill Rite DC fuel transfer pump

I have a tuthill 1200a dc powered fuel transfer pump that I am in need of a check valve for. I purchased a complete rebuild kit, only to find out that it does not come with the check valve.

After sitting without use for a day or two the fuel leak back out of the pump and loses its prime.

I cant seem to find a replacement part. I have emailed the company (just now) and will see what response I get.

My fear is that this pump is old and our of current production.

Wonder if you could use a brass well foot valve on the intake.
I'm sure it's not diesel fuel rated but they aren't horribly priced too try if you can't locate the correct check valve.
1-1/4" NPT one is around $25 on Amazon.
Should be able to source them at a hardware store if well water is still common use in your area.

Thanks for the idea, I hadnt thought about a foot valve but dont see why I couldnt make that work. Really appreciate it
