Last thing I want is a tv in my shop to distract me. Just an old 80's boom box tuned into local radio station I like. Background noise while playing.

I used to say the same thing. Now that I have a TV I don't get bored with what I'm doing and go inside the house. Also, if I stop for a lunch break and want to watch TV I don't need to go inside the house either.

I run a 40" sony up on my mezzanine, I really need something larger. Once 70"+ TVs become affordable I'm going to get one for the shop.

I run an all old 90's amps, cd changer, cassette player, and speakers and sub. Sound volume is not an issue. I'm a little scared to run lots of speakers and bass, don't want to damage anything.

I currently run an Echo dot connected to a Vizio sound bar. I have a wink hub out there as well so I can tell Alexa to turn on and off my dust collector. I’m moving out of my 1350sf shop into a 2500sf shop soon and it will have an office area with a TV and I’m putting a 70” up in the shop where I can see it from the lift. Growing in Alaska as an Alabama football fan we rarely had access to the games on TV so my Saturdays were typically free. The Saban era at Bama + the SEC network has made it way to easy for me to waste whole Saturdays watching football. I can’t wait to be able to watch football and spin wrenches on the rigs.

I am a TV nut, I have tv's every where. As far as the garages go I have a 55" TCL Ruko TV in both. I upgrade both from left over tvs from the house this year to the TCL's when they were on sale for 379$ at BestBuy. Detached garage has a Vizio 2.1 sound bar which is ok for now but will need an upgrade at some point its just not loud enough. The attached garage has my old theater speakers in it, Boston Acoustic speakers with a BIC America Sud and B&K Pre Amp with a Rotel Amp. That system rocks its load its clear and way to load if the garage doors are open and I get carried away.

Living room may get upgraded to Sonos Soundbar with wireless rears and wireless Sub. Then I can take the Pioneer receiver and Mirage speakers from there and put them in the detached garage. Speakers may not be enough as the are a sub sat setup and not that loud. I may experiment with some cheap book shelf speakers that have gotten real good reviews.

I am a bit of an audiophile but have learned to go a little easier on the budget. The increase in sound quality is small compared to the money spent to get that increase. I worry lease about how perfect it sounds or how perfect the picture quality is and learned to just enjoy the actual content more and worry less about if its a perfect representation of the content.

Every new TV is bigger than the last. The new 72" moved the 50" which moved the 42" Samsung into the garage. Attached a 3.1 soundbar with wireless sub, a dvd/vcr combo to watch the old "trip" movies. Have the TV on a HD antennae which gets a couple dozen channels.

Re: Sony 200w reciever CHEAP.

Hauled out a bunch of my old AV equipment to set up a system in my garage. Turned out my old Sansui receiver from 1975 only had one channel. Cruised the web and found a Sony 100watt /channel 2.0 receiver that does the job quiet nicely. It's on sale now at Best Buy for ( get this) $99.00. Sounds great. Plenty of power. inputs for CD player, tape deck, TV, and Ipod/phone. The guy where I bought it said they sell a ton of them for just this use.

Merry Christmas everyone! Model: STRDH130
