TV mount

I am thinking of obsoleting my 20" CRT TV but want to put it in the garage up on a corner on a wall. Can I see some picture of a mount and how much do they cost to build or buy? I don't think I am ready for a flatscreen out in the garage yet as it is a little over the top for my own garage.

Check out http://www.dtv2009.gov if you are thinking antenna reception. If your going with Cable or sat. it is no problem but over the air you will need a converesion box.

Best Buy has numerous tv mounts. Just do a search on their website and you can see lots of pics for ideas.

i'd ebay or craigslist that. best buy's prices are exorbitant, but they might be a good place to figure out what you're looking for.

WallyWorld for a mount. Or check your local hospital and ask one of the maintenance guys if they have any to get rid of that may need a little work. WallyWorlds are pretty cheap and will hold up to a 27" on a standard swivel mount that will swing something like 13" out from the wall or will go back to hug the wall. I just lagged a 2x6 to the wall stud then lagged the wall mount to the 2x6. I have a 14" standard TV on it.

Couple bucks worth of tube steel from the scrap yard and a couple hours of time. This one is holding a 37" CRT. I can hang from it as well and it won't budge.

If I remember my mount is a Barkin or Barken SP? about $40 on sale at Menards. I got one for up to 20inch TV's.

I bought one at lowes for the house a couple of years ago, but I think for a garage it would look cooler to make your own. If you don't know how to weld you might be able to make one out of 2x4's or something. Hmm.....

I got my swiveling wall-mounts through a mail-order catalog (Sporty's, I think) about seven years ago; I have a 19" TV/VCR in the main work area, and a 13" TV/VCR in my adjacent garage office. They're lagged into studs.

yep, just got one for the war dept, so she'd stop complaining about not being able to watch tv while laying in bed.

I'm going to put one in the corner with plywood and 2x4s. 32" crt so hopefully it doesn't fall. That could do some damage.

Both of mine came with a 2"-wide strap that wraps around the TV and the shelf on the mount.
