I had my suspicions that some members don't use their tools. Why have then if your not going to turn them.

Tools can be as much of a collectible as anything else. I think it's more of a gamble but i'm sure some think that the more oddball colors, handle and drive combinations may be worth a buck or two someday. I have alot of tools that I use, and a few tools that I just have.

And I like that show. Sure he's kinda arrogant, but please.... No where near as arrogant as duane... I hate that guy. It's the drama that sells it, maybe they feel that if you have a car show with some element of drama then man and wife can enjoy it together..?

I enjoy it too from the technical aspect and the rarity of the cars but I can't stand the interaction and BS.

I would watch it on the DVR and would end up turning it off half way through because I would get sick of it! But I finally figured out how to watch it. I fast forward until there is a tool in their hands or they are leaning into/over/under a car. Then I hit play. :D

I stopped watching this show after about three episodes. Way too much drama for me. Assuming this is a real shop like Coddington's was, and though the finished Mopars do look good "on camera", how is this program promoting their business? I'd be staying as far away as possible!

And they blur the logo on the blue snap on toolbox for some reason too.

This is common. They blur out t-shirts with images & sayings, posters on the wall, names on the sides of trucks, on tools and the like.

When a TV show / movie shows any product they need to have a "permission to depict" signed from the owner of the trade mark, artist (if it has any art work), etc.

Since the brand name has no bearing on the show, it is simply easier to blur it out then bother getting the permission.

It is also true that they don't want to depict any brand name in the show since it makes it difficult to sell advertising to companies with competing brands of products.

Conversely, they want to sell "product placement" to a sponsor. This is the only time you see brand names on tools... because the tool company paid for right to be depicted. Indeed, this is why so many of these shows have the "tour of the garage' or 'how to use a tool' episodes. They are infomercial.

Season 2 is bloated with product placement with everything form energy drinks to shop lifts. Snap-On is blurred out because he's not getting free stuff from them to use in the show, simple as that.

Reality shows like this are used to promote business. It's working quite well for Graveyard Cars, as the number of restorations in line now in a shop that was mostly doing insurance body work has quadrupled since season 1.

I wish they would cut out the forced drama and fake "conflicts" and just focus on the restoration process, but shows like this are built around comedy, tragedy, drama and chaos. What Velocity and other networks that run shows like this is that the people that are interested in subjects like this would watch MORE if it were about the process and not the excess.

The Worman act wore thin on me quickly early in season 2, and I find myself watching with the volume down or on >> on the DVR to the parts of the show where they are actually doing something on a project car.

Fanatically beautifully restored Mopars but the circus that is created to sell the show is played out and completely cliche.

Most of these shows could take a tip from the Wayne Carini show, Chasing Classic Cars and cut out all of the ********.

The principle behind investing is that you take a sum of money and put it towards something with the hopes that particular something will appreciate in value.
