Nice grabs as usual, Todd
Who keeps the cardboard box of a well used socket set? [emoji106]
The single offset Bonney's are a great find.
Well, it's not exactly well used Mike. They look brand new. I thought I found a specialty wrench with the bent 9/16. Someone actually ground the model number down but I did notice the remnants of it after a little brass wheel work.

All boxes were $10 each, Bonney set was 18 and 7 for the rest.....spent $65.

Urgh. lol

Looks like I should have wandered down to Virginia today. All I found in WV was a broken Columbian vise. I left that behind of course.

Nice grabs.

You were probably better off up there. There were deer everywhere this morning. 4 dead on the road on the way out.

lol.

I'm going to weld up an iron bumper for the truck. Deer won't be a problem much longer. Maybe I will sell some deer jerky down there at double toll gate to pad my spending limit. ;)

Twertsy, what's the little SO box worth? I've had my eye on one at a little more than you paid for yours, and they're listed all over flea bay for $80-$100. What's up?

Perhaps another check is in order? I see a lone Craftsman socket in that SK set.

Brian
Ugh, you're right, now I need a 3/8" drive, 14mm, 6 point socket in this style:

Todd, I bought that same SK 3/8" metric set around 1970-71 from a local discount store. IIRC, the cost was around $20, but it didn't come in a cardboard box, so yours are probably older. I picked up a nice set of Cornwell and sold the SK to a co-worker.

Are any of the sockets in that set 'Wayne'? I have the same holder and none of the sockets are Wayne, they're the same style as yours.

Nope, not a single one says Wayne. The carrier is Wayne, and the box is Wayne but that's it Mike. This makes me believe they are early Dresser era, late '67 to early '70, since Dresser continued to use the SK-Wayne TM until '70.

Ok folks, now I think that "bent" 9/16 wrench is actually factory. This is an excerpt from the 1932 catalog.

That is an interesting special wrench. I'm guessing it cost very little extra to produce but added an additional item to their catalog, and I assume they charged a small premium over the normal wrench.

I spent a little bit more than Horse today but got some great stuff! Full set of Chrome-X-Quality sockets, monster 3/4" drive Proto LA sockets, etc., etc.

Did you find those PROTO boards today as well? Nice! I'd sure like to come across one of those big ratchets in the wild.

What are the sizes? I found a 1-1/4" last week.

I didn't look real close Jason, not much time at the flea not the shop today......prepping for entire family arrivals this week. I "sorta" got them at the flea. One vendor saves stuff he knows I want (he texts me before buying them usually) and I buy from him there at the flea. So, I knew I was finding tool boards, the rat and 3/4 sockets today before I even left the house!

Haven't been updating this thread, but perhaps it's time I pressed on. Here are some drive tools I got today. I needed all these to help fill out some sets I have. A couple Mustang speeders (bottom), what I believe is a Cornwell speeder (above Mustangs), and what I believe is a MTF speeder. NB breaker (bottom), Truth and Herbrand extensions, and a Bonney made PWA 1396 12" extension.

It's a 1733 - 1" x 7/8" (and already in Don's "outbox")

Thanks for thinking of me. I have most of the Blue Point set in my NAF Kennedy cantilever box. Here are a couple of pictures. I think the sets were made by the Ridge tool company for Blue Point
