Who makes the socket racks / rails that hold the socket after you twist it 90 degrees?

A member here did a review of the Tekton version. Let's see if I can post it from my phone...

Are there any other sources other than Ernst or Tekton? Like store branded twist racks fron Sears, Lowes, Home Depot or Harbor Freight?

I am on the same quest, and I haven't found any other than you can get the 3/8" Tekton rails at Meijer. (I don't know where you are or if you have a Meijer nearby -- huge 24/7 store with everything, sort of a slightly less hillbilly Super Wal mart.) Meijer stores stock a pretty decent selection of Tekton tools.

For 1/4" and 1/2" I'd have to order them from Amazon or whatever.

The Tekton rails are fantastic, by the way. :rocker:

Sears and Snap-On also sell these. You can buy replacement pieces from Snap-On, you have to buy a bunch though.

Get them at Sears. They often go on sale on their Local Ads site local.sears.com.

They have a magnet strip on the back to hold the rack to your tool box, which keeps them from tipping over, even when used with deep sockets.

I have several of these, and they are quite good. You can also remove the end cap to remove pegs if you have a lot of large sockets.

^^ Thanks Jens!! I want that Assistent.

Get one as long as they make them. I assume that they eventually drop that and the 180 in favor of the new line of large 179 boxes. The 173-1 and 173-2 only differ by the top (one plastic, one wood) and there is a red one that you might be interested in if you own a modern Porsche.
