Twisted handle wrench

I’ve had this wrench for quite a while but didn’t really know what I had. I was cleaning out one of my myriad tool chests and setting aside tools that I wanted to sell. I came across this twisted handled monkey wrench. At first I though it was a high school kids shop project. On a whim, I looked it up. Wow! The prices people want for this type tool is unbelievable! I found this at a barn sale along with a bunch of other antique tools. Without further ado:

The "Acme" style handle wrenches are very popular among collectors. But I don't think most go for a ton of money. I sold one awhile back on an eBay bid auction that was late 1800s in better shape than OP wrench for about 20-some dollars IIRC, had good clear markings too. But I've also seen auction catalog photos of early pristine examples that went for some money. Many have the flat end of the upper jaw mauled from using it as a hammer, and I think that hurts the value on them. You won't have to sit on it long....at the right price, it will flip quick.
