The picture of the two different size cabinets together in post #34 was pinging my OCD hard until you posted the long shot in #40 that showed the layout is symmetrical, ha ha!

It all looks truly great. Wonderful job you've done. Congrats!

Thank you for the kind words! Symmetry is the name of the game! My own compulsiveness would never allow anything else. I have two other 36" wall cabinets that I need to find a home for elsewhere in the garage, but space is at a premium!

I was able to fix the pictures in this thread with the help of the Moderator, Ryan. Thanks!

For anyone following along, I've been working on the garage stairs, but I don't have a significant update yet. I'm going with a black/grey theme with black powder coated railings. I will post when finished. I also realized I never posted a finished picture of the house with siding and portico finished. Here's a grainy photo pulled from Instagram:

Summertime distractions have delayed the detail work once again. I've been driving the Barracuda and taking the kids to local car shows. I sold the Buick last week and I'm headed up to New Hampshire to pick up a '70 Nova SS old school racecar this weekend. I'll get back on the garage one of these days...

The '70 Nova SS drag car is home, safe and sound. It was a long and exhausting trip, but well worth it in the end. Big plans for this car and the temptation to tear it apart is strong, but I'm going to "finish" the garage first. I'll try for some glamour shots soon. Pics (or it didn't happen):

Finally, a garage update! I had some time yesterday morning to work on the staircase. I took the advice of some of the users on here and changed out the pressure treated wood railings for a black and grey theme with aluminum rails. I kept the wood newel posts and painted them and the stringers black, painted treads and landing grey to match the concrete stem wall. I still have to install kickers, which will also be black, and the lower portion will be wrapped in greywashed barn wood. The brand I used is Peak Aluminum Railing, very nice and high quality. Available at Home Depot.

Just been tinkering in the garage the past few days while I’m waiting on the blower carbs, fuel lines and linkage. Got the pulleys, idler, and carb adapter plate mounted on the 8-71…

I also mounted the stock wheel to get a feel for it while I’m waiting for a replacement steering column to come in the mail.

Great! Beautiful garage, house and cars. What did you put on the garage floor? I am living in europe and I do not know what is that but it is nice and neat. Regards Greg from Poland.

Thanks Greg! The floor coating is an industrial black epoxy. The floor was ground with a diamond blade and then basecoat/flake/clear coat epoxy.

Even though we didn't lose power this time, Hurricane Henri motivated me to get started on a project I've been putting off for over a year: installing a generator manual transfer switch. The staircase brackets I was missing finally arrived this morning and I was able to stop at Home Depot and pick them up, along with a few other parts for the transfer switch install. My only complaint so far is that the whip they give you with the transfer switch is very short. In my case, I will be using the PVC junction box to house all of the splices I will need to make in order to extend the wiring up to the trough I have above my panel.

Small update: I added two pendant lights over the workbenches. I found it difficult to see fine detail work recently. I ordered the 4' LED fixtures for the garage before I knew the difference between "high bay" lights and otherwise. Needless to say, they are not high bay. I added 1265 lumen "bright white" LED bulbs to the pendants and it helped greatly.

Where you at QLC? Been a minute since we've seen you around!
I've been around! The garage has remained relatively unchanged, except for hanging up my sign collection and swapping a few cars...

Picture update! The garage is a complete mess with several home improvement projects and vehicle upgrades happening all at once, but here's a quick one:IMG_6445.jpeg
