Two lighting questions for my garage rebuild

First, I have a 20x15 area that will mostly be lit by 12", 100W pendant shop lights, 10' off the ground (I think). I wall also have some perimeter task lighting, but the pendents will be the bulk of the general lighting. How many will I need to PROPERLY illuminate the area?

I know they've improved, but I've hated LEDs. But I can't argue with the savings. What should I get for a high output WHITE light. Something that doesn't make me miss 100W old school bulbs.

Thanks!!!

Are you talking about the vintage style round reflectors with 100w incandescent bulbs?
If that's the case, just run down to the orange big box store and grab a handful of the Philips 18w (100w equivalent) LED bulbs. They come in 2700k or 5000k. Sounds like you are looking for the 5000k, but it's your choice. They're under $10 each at my local store. Really good bulb.

As for how many you'll need....that's up to you...but probably 6 or so.
Good luck

Just curious, why do you hate LED's? I've never heard anyone express that sentiment. Sounds like it's a color issue and you want WHITE light, but from what I've seen LED's can offer nice white light as well.

Maybe I've been looking at the wrong LEDs, as it is a color issue. I also hate LED flashlights. I work I in automation repair and pick up my cheap, filament model every time.
