I wanted a two post and not four post lift but I have a post tension slab.

I got a bend pak xpr-10s, had ground penetrating radar find the cables and had the lift installed yesterday.

No cables flew out of the foundation and no one died, and I drilled the holes.

So exited to have fulfilled a life long dream of having my own lift!!

Can you explain why you have a post tension garage floor? Does it have a basement under it? Did you check to see if the slab is designed to handle the two point loads and moment that the lift may subject the slab to?

Did you have to pay for the GPR?

I live in Surprise, Az which is northwest PHX. All new builds have post tension slabs, and the garages are known as RV garages. Not sure why they are done that way.

No basement.

Yes the slab is 10” thick and can accommodate this lift, confirmed with the guy who did the radar.

$290 for the GPR process.

I spent weeks researching and did not take this lightly. There is so much misinformation all over the internet.

A 10" PT deck on grade?!?

I've been on projects where we needed to core drill PT decks for pipes, it's no joke when you said nobody died....

Around here, they are done that way because they cost less than a steel slab.
But you've got a 10" thick slab, so I'm a bit confused... Maybe a soil conditions thing.

Glad you didn't hit a cable!

How tall is your garage? I am just curious.

The GPR tech said the slab was 10”, the lift guy said based on the drill bit it was less than 10”. Not really sure, may go see another foundation being poured and ask as I am curious now.

Hi Neighbor,
We have a new build in Desert Oasis - Surprise AZ, with an RV garage. Looking at a BendPak 10k 2 post lift, also have a post tension slab. Since we are the original owners I have photos of the build and measurements of the cable spacing etc.
What company did you use for your install and the ground penetrating radar? I have not had any luck finding a company that will install the lift after we buy it.
