Two post lift Asymmetric or Symmetric?

looking for a two post lift, (i think)
I have a 1978 f350 long wheel base truck, I need to change the transmission in,
and a f350 1980 normal wheel base, that needs a clutch,

plus my car and S10 pickup, that needs work from time to time, what do you recommend,

I have 2post Bendpak Symmetric installed in the Wide configuration. Works perfect for a 164 long base/ long bed 1984 Chevy dually and a 2006 Honda civic.

Bendpak Xpr-10S-168 Extra Tall, Dual Width, 10,000 2 Post Car Lift

I've used both and prefer symmetric. Long trucks on an asymmetric has more overhang than I would like.

The Asymmetric is easier to open the doors without hitting the uprights. This was my main reason as I hate worrying about nicking a door while getting in the car. Seems most cars end up with the upright at the windshield instead of the middle of door.

With a long wheelbase, you can still pull farther forward to help balance the vehicle.

If I worked on trucks exclusively, a symmetrical may be more appropriate.

Symmetrical, without question!
I absolutely hate the ASSymetrical type!! The idea of the doors not being nicked is BS. In theory it was supposed to be that way, but in reality, it isn't. A lot of shops get them because they can get more of them side by side in a given space.
