I have been trying to install a lift in my two car garage for a while now. After a lot of thinking it over, here is where I stand. I am limited to 127'' width and I have a 11' ceiling but have a beam which runs parallel to the overhead switch which limits the cars max height to 10'. So, a lift which is 11' with a shut off switch at 10' no wider than 127" would be perfect. This is what I have found so far.
The Rotary At07 needs a 12' ceiling but the width is 123". That's too high.
The Bendpak GP-7LC Fits height and width but with a huge disadvantage. The shut off switch is at 9'. I will be working on pickups and suv's. At max height there will be barely 4' under the vehicle. Fine for cars and brake work but anything under is not going to be comfortable.
The Mohawk A7 might be perfect but costly for a hobbyist.
I really don't want a base plate, not because of the plate. I feel the overhead is a safer/sturdier design.
Would anyone know of another manufacturer who makes a lift for my needs?
Thank you.

Is a top plate safer than a floor plate? I had a floor plate and 10’6” ceiling and could lift my BMWs 6’ but think you are right that a truck has a taller body from lift point to roof and would not go as high with the same ceiling. I think you are about right at 4’

Could you put the top plate in an attic above rafters?

I don't think you're gonna find a permanent lift that narrow. If you did find one fitting a full size truck through the posts is gonna be tight.
Have you looked into the MaxJax option yet?
One more thing....maybe others could chime in on would be maybe 2 bumper lifts??? I see them for sale all the time on market place usually for less than 6-700.
We've got a 10,000lb rated Gray jack that will pick up the front end of a F750 around 3-4'

My Atlas BP8000 floor plate was narrow at something like 132 from outside of post plate to outside of post plate. Drive through was best for smaller cars. Definitely something to look into since trucks can be wide mirror to mirror but folding them in is an option

Thank you to everyone. PBON I can place the top plate in the rafters. The floor joists do run parallel to the top plate. So, the Rotary At07 is not off the table as an option. It is 11' 11'' so there will be 11'' in the ceiling. That will place the overhead head switch in the ceiling about 3 inches. Has anyone made a way to stop the lift with an install like this? With a larger vehicle it is going to be hard to stop it right before the ceiling, trying to get every inch possible.

How good are you at fabricating? Just drop the bar down to just below your trusses and extend the wires to the switch. Just make sure wherever you cut the wires at you have enough slack to terminate them into a junction box.

Best of luck with your system. Make sure your mounting slab isn't he correct thickness.

Having spent several hours on the phone with Bendpak I opted for the quick jack 7500. I love the thing. Great so far for any work I can do (or teach my son to do while I enjoy a beverage and a ball game.)

It's maiden voyage was a clutch job. Went great. Plenty of room.
