I just has a new spo 12 lift installed. The lift is currently synced with the locks but I suspect something is wrong with the cables.

One side is backed all the way out and not actually fully engaged with the lock nut. The other (power unit side) is basically maxed out.

Installers didn't think it was a problem but it's so far off from the installation guide spec I question it.

Is this normal on a new lift or should I get them back out here?

If they are adjustable on both ends, you could potentially correct if. If they're not, then you can't. You'll just have to accept it. It's not like there's some alternate version of the lift or its parts.

It appears to be under 2" of difference between the two pictured. I don't think that fabricating cable lengths with the ends being crimped/swaged to the wire is an "exacting science" hence the adjustability. Then there's the wire itself and I'd imagine that there's a little difference/leeway in the amount each cable might stretch/relax after loading.
If the installers were from the company you bought the lift from I'd think you'd be ok. If not I might contact Rotary themselves for advice. 👍

...

If the lift was installed outside the installation specifications of the lift manufacturer, then I would say you have any issue that needs corrected.

What others have said.

Are the cables supposed to be the same length? If not did the installers switch the cables?
If adjustable at both ends lengthen the cable on which the nut is not fully engaged.

I would be concerned about the nylon insert not engaging the threads of the end of the cable. Is the end of the cable long enough to engage all the threads on the nyloc nut? At the least it should engage all the threads in the nut, If you can achieve that, I'd suggest you put some thread locker on those threads.

It's probably all within spec, but it still looks to me like lazy installers who couldn't care less about the details.
That **** would drive me nuts.

I am with lolaetype, that nylock nut not having the lock engaged is wrong. I would crank that nut 1/4" further onto the cable end and see how it works then. Could be that even if that 1/4" adjustment affects the lift, it will settle out some w/ use.

It appears to be adjustable at both ends but access to that lower point with it installed looks like a challenge. Any adjustment from this current position puts the arms out of sync. Thinking something is not right at the lower attachment point. Considering the lift was missing the pins for the arms out of the crate my confidence is a little mixed.
