I'm adding to my socket collection and I have a few questions:

1. What is the general opinion of GEARWRENCH sockets? The sets seem to be more complete than craftsman. Which leads to question 2.

2. Is there anywhere that has a list of open stock craftsman sockets? I have searched the web and SEARS/CRAFTSMAN website (which stinks IMHO) to no avail.

I think it kinda stinks when you can buy a set of CRAFTSMAN 3/8 dr. standard length in sizes 6-22mm, but the deep set is 9-19mm.:headscrat The GEARWRENCH (who is made by the same company, if I'm not mistaken), the sizes are almost the same from standard to deep. What gives?

Here's the Craftsman 2010 open stock catalog:

They don't make it easy to find, I'll say that.

It's a personal choice. Gearwrench sockets are well made, durable, nicely finished, and have excellent customer service. The downside is that they can be pricey depending on where you shop and most of the production now comes from China. However, if you wait awhile, you may see Craftsman sickets morph into rebadged Gearwrench sockets.:wtf:
