Two shop vacs

Here is my thought. I have two "shop vacs". One is a stihl and works nicely but has zero on board tool storage capabilities among other oddities which made me put it to rest in the attic. Next I went and purchased a ridgid brand shop vac and it is better but not perfect like my shop vac that died causing this mess. I am about to put the ridgid to rest in the attic too. My next idea was to place both vacs in the attic and plug them into a outlet that is switched on/off below in the garage and connect both suction ports to one single hose that would come down to the garage through the ceiling. Is this a good idea. Will suction be doubled with two vacs on the same hose? Pros/cons? Thank you in advance. Chad

I don't think that suction would be doubled because the two motors would be fighting each other. Plus how do you plan on emptying the canisters?

Which exact Stihl and Ridgid vacs do you have?

You already have what a lot of us would consider to be two of the best shop vacs, a fancy Euro vac and a Ridgid.

What are you looking for that these vacs won't do?

Where are you located? I'm sure it's a long shot, but if you're near me I may be willing to take that Stihl off your hands.

I agree completely, in a heart beat especially the one made for Stihl by WAP that was several years ago. They were quite and powerful.
