Figured it was time to stop lurking and introduce myself.
I've been pulling ideas from all the great builds on here for the last 6 years and have tried to make my garage a little more useful, comfortable, and enjoyable over that time.
My wife and I moved into our house in 2012 and I knew I wanted to make the garage my space from day one. I've always been a car guy, and my prior condo really had been a 2 car garage with an attached living space. I didn't really do anything with that space beyond store vehicles, but with a real driveway, I wanted to do more with the garage area in the new house.
I knew I wanted floor covering, so within the first month I had ordered a race deck style blue and white flooring tiles, and hung the vacuum. Talk about a blank canvas. Back when new and shiny.
Over the next two years I tried to get organized, and added shelving in "dead space" borrowing ideas from garages I adored while flipping through garagejournal. I added a shelf for long term storage items above the garage rail, and shelved on the car wall by the garage doors for detailing items.
2015 brought the need for more light as the single light figure wasn't cutting especially when detailing. Thinking I was going to be using the far bay I installed 2 4ft T8 light strips on that garage, and 1 4ft T8 light strip on the other bay by the walking garage door.
Man, did I think I had a lot of light.
Unfortunatly when my dream car arrived, I switched sides of the garage with the wife, so now the cobra would be in the dark
