All along I've been using a plain-jane ratchet driver. Nothing special. Came with a Home Depot set. I had no idea there were other "types". I saw "micro head" ratchets, extendable ratchets, twist ratchets, flexible ratchets, crank ratchets, flex head ratchets etc. Does anyone use any of these or find them useful?

Yes... Long handles for leverage, flex heads for clearance, short ratchets for clearance. For the most part, you can get by with standard lengths in all 3 drivers and a flex and a long handled in 3/8

Basically what Jim said. In the last year, I must have purchased 15 ratchets (I really need help...). You can never really imagine just how useful they all are until you have a few of the different versions (flex head, long handle, etc). Then you'll wonder how you lived without them.
