I have bought SO much stuff at HF. I love that store. The only things there that I am a bit hesitant at getting are their hand wrenches and their rotary tool. I burned out one of their Chicago Electric rotary tools after only 30 minutes of use, but to be fair, the fiberglass I was cutting through was a good 0.25" thick. After that, went and got myself an adjustable speed Dremel rotary tool.

Basically, I'll give their Chicago Electric (CE) power tools (NOT their Chicago Electric Professional series - just good ol' regular CE) a try, and if I burn them out - then it's onto Craftsman, Kobalt or Ryobi for me. Oh, and I will never EVER buy a Drillmaster anything - I had a a heatgun that didn't survive 2 minutes from HF. Bought a fully adjustable from 0 deg Farenheit to 1050 deg Farenheit heatgun from Ryobi and never looked back.

I have CE's reciprocating saw, 4" cutting wheel, 4" wheel grinder, multi-tool, and portable drill/driver, and I haven't burned ANY of them out. I will admit, the number of power tools from HF is starting to decrease and Craftman/Ryobi/Kobalt is slowly starting to take over - but hey - I'm a DIYer at home and in the garage. I don't depend on these tools for my livelihood; I depend on them when I need them from 1x a week to 1x a year.

I didn't even get to the 5" Central Vice or the 5 speed Central Speed drill press or the dual 3" variable speed wheel grinder - all have served me very well. Heck, some of the things from HF have outlasted the "big boy" names. You just have to know the ins, outs, and arounds of a HF store.

And their ratchet extensions - holy **** are they nice. They have the "swivel end" that Craftsman certainly didn't have ....ironically, the wife and I just bought the 60" x 80" Craftsman throw fleece blanket ._.

Bottom line, HF is an excellent alternative for those tools you're only going to use "once every 6 months" or "once every 5 years" or other variations. Hand tools like wrenches I'd definitely be careful especially if needed on a daily basis - but some of their power tools and especially their tool chests are definitely worth the consideration and money.

I'm proably a 1 and 2, but I'll add that I go to the Harbor Freight tent sales from time to time because I love the fresh air. Does that count?

Our store has a discount bin, things like a wrench set with one missing or a socket set with a piece missing etc. That's where the real bargains are.
Is that a category of a HF customer. Sometimes it's me.

 Those fat girls do know how to please, that's for sure.....

Not always... Ask me how I know :rocker: Fat or ugly never both.

Do they have coupons and give you a flashlight when you "check out"???? :spit:

Some have coupons, check craigslist :D

Gotta add the typical freighter "My tools are better than your snap ons, but hey can I borrow xxxxx real quick, haven't had the chance to go get mine warrantied at hf" :spit:

Fun thread

Lets see, I am close to number 3, I always fix things as cheap as I can. No cordless drill or headlights, or ducttape holding anything on yet, but I do have a bunch of their free screw drivers. My car was initially free but with 600 bucks in parts I got it running with, and it does have a roof basket made out of EMT that cost 9 bucks to make. And the roof basket has ratchet straps to hold stuff in it.

You didn't mention the guy who brings in a stack of 25% coupons, nearly gets into a fist fight with the cashier when they won't let him use all of them, continues to harangue the HF guys till they cave and let him use all the coupons. The real kicker is that he's buying mostly closeout / open box stuff that he intends to return and demand brand new merchandise for, all the while getting the closeout price minus the coupon!

I disagree.... I think if you're contemplating purchasing Craftsman tools you should save the extra money the Chinese use stamp the name "Craftsman" into the tool and just buy the cheaper HF tools.
