well that depends what rebates and other deals they have got my KRL 1022, bedliner top, Workstation, and cover for 6200 I traded in a beat up old MAC bottom box they gave me 2k for it. The tool box configurator says it is 16,865. they had half price workstation deal and a rebate on the side box plus the lock on the bottom box and the work center dont line up so a discount for that. the bedliner and cover was free from the dealer. Our shop hadn't had a snap on dealer in 10 years and nobody would buy from the new dealer so a rep came out and was making deals. Now it sits at home

Rebates and whatnot, plus an inflated trade, often gets you near 50% for boxes. You often have to wait for that, or the "rock and roll" truck. "Discounts" for financing also apply, like finance 3k, get $300 off. Finance it all, get your discount, then make your down payment the first week. I got 90 days deferred interest on my locker, still got the credit for "financing", and paid no interest.

I got offered 2 84" epiqs when looking for my locker. My 1033 and Single bay KRL top/bottom I got on craigslist for $700, +10k, got whatever pair of 84s I wanted. I chose to pass for various reasons, YMMV. The list on those boxes was like 32k or something stupid like that.

When I got the 1033, it was $5600 tax and all - Traded in my top/bottom KRA I got for $1800 a few years earlier. List was like 12K.

You said you got your KRL top and bottom for $700??? What's the 10k thing? I must have missed it.

My KRL1056 had a list price of $3300. I paid $2200 for it.

But there were two things that got the box down to that price:
1. Box was on promo
2. Dealer wanted cash under the table without a receipt.

Poor description on my part. I would give him 10k, plus my triple and my single bay top/bottom, and get two 84 inch epiqs. I got the top/bottom on craigslist, 700 but all the trim was damaged, it had no liners, and it had fallen over with the drawers open. Still works good though.

If you can wait, wait until you're getting at least 50% off list. That's a good deal. Closer to 40% is a better deal. Deals come and go, box of the month, rebates, new box someone ordered and flaked on, etc. There's always the occasional scratch and dent too. My dealer sold a brand new KRL1023 to a guy at my work for $4000 while I watched. If it wasn't red, I would have bought it. It had a dent in one piece of corner trim the size of a blueberry and one light but noticeable 3" scratch on the top drawer. Thats a ~$13,000 box new list.

Yep...wait for a deal, and have cash and you'll often see 50% off, sometimes more.

But, you won't be getting the exact spec you want with glitter fairies laser etched in the trim and purple LEDs under the box.

What is typical for one guy isn't going to be typical for the next guy. Tool truck dealers are people, who own or lease the equipment stock they have so one guy may give you a better deal than the next.

Also your relationship with the dealer, as well as the volume of business you do with them factors in on their price offerings. Walk on the truck and start asking for discounts probably won't get you anywhere. Buy some things, build a relationship, then start discussing toolboxes.
