Does anyone know anything about old U-Haul brand tools? I picked up a 36" pipe wrench with their name on the handle, and didn't realize they were ever in the tool business.

It's possible that it was made for Uhaul for use in their repair shops and that it was "misappropriated" at some point in its life.

I've never heard of Uhaul branded tools.

I hadn't thought about it being meant for their shop, but that very well could be. Can't think of anything they would need a big pipe wrench for though. Must have been something.

Here are a couple of pictures. The opposite side says Japan down at the end.

I suppose if you order 1000 + of something from anyone they'll set up to cast your name in it. Mohawk had change plates for the molds in the tire molds. Coulda ordered 1000 L-78 x 15 'SHITHEADS" if you wanted.K-Mart, Sears,Dayton, Advance Auto---can't remember them all. Even some overseas stuff.

To remove the nut from a customers hitch ball?? To change ball sizes to match the U-Haul trailer? Just guessing.

Three feet long for enough leverage for any rusty nut, a pipe wrench to fit any size, rounded off or not, also will hold the ball to keep it from turning. So, one for the ball, one for the nut, two wrenches for every U-Haul location, that's enough for a special order with the company logo, which also reduces (not eliminates) theft.
