U-joint clip tool

For anyone that has struggled with those clips that hold in u-joints I was told that a battery pliers work extremely well for it. Ordered one and first time I got to use was today. Worked awesome.

Always used needle nose of some variety. If they're stubborn clips they're getting destroyed anyways. Or break. Those look a good alternative though.

I had (lost somewhere during my move) an old needle nose pliers that I ground the sharp pointed nose off of. Worked great for compressing those clips... I can see a battery pliers maybe working too but the offset jaws may make it a little more difficult.. I have also used a side cutter to just grab the ear and pull it out.

needle nose vise-grips ,lock in place and have always worked for me. Or a worn out pair of lock ring pliers that I can't seem to throw away.
