Ever heard of a manufacturer called "Shoepress"?

I found this last week. It looks like a T-handle socket tool that is missing the handle. Appears to be cadmium plated.
It's 5.25" long and has a 9/32" diameter hole at the top.
The business end is a 1/2-inch, 6-point, socket.

Only stamping is SHOEPRESS and MADE IN U.S.A.

I've searched online and come up with absolutely nothing. A cool mystery.

My hunch on that would be made for, not by. A shoe press was and maybe still is a machine designed to cement soles to uppers in a factory. And there was a Shoepress Corporation in Philly for many years making the machines.

Lugz just got in before me!

My guess is that it is for adjusting or changing dies/anvils on a "shoepress" brand shoe press used for shoe making or repair.

google: "vintage SHOEPRESS tools", then look through the image search.

Thank you Lugz and steaks&anvils!

You nailed it. The T-handled sockets indeed confirm it.

You're quite welcome. It was a nice find!

I have a small collection of wrenches that fit into a similar bucket. (Well, corner of a display case, to be more precise.) Made by an OEM for a customer with the customer's name on it, and not counting loom wrenches.

Such as the "Leland Gifford" Tapper wrench (lathes, DP's, etc in Ohio), the "Kelly Press" wrench (NY-based newspaper printing presses, made by Williams), "R and L Tools" wrench (special holding tools for lathes, DP's, etc, in Philly, made by Billings), "Edison" wrench (made by Bonney), couple of SOE wrenches made by Williams for "AU. SCR. M." (Automatic Screw Machine Co. in Milwaukee), and the Peoria Rubber combo, OEM unknown.

EDIT: Put it away and start a little collection and we can compare notes from time to time.
