Hi guys, have a question....
Installing a hot tub, pulling the electric from a 100 Amp subpanel in the garage.
Plan is to run metallic flex conduit from the panel to the wall puncture, transit to 1 1/2 schedule 40 Pvc conduit we just buried 2ft deep and come out 6 ft from the hot tub, where we would tie into a GFCI panel/cutoff.. total run about 50 ft... needs to be 50 amp, so was planning on using 6/3 with ground....
2 questions, first would like to use one continuous cable for this, would a UF-B cable be acceptable for this....or what else is rated for indoor/ outdoor/in conduit?
2nd, can I run a regular 12/2 With ground wire thru this same conduit, for a GFCI outlet 6 feet from the tub?
Thanks
pete

Running UF in LFMC and then schedule 40 PVC is just plain nuts, not to mention the fact that the unshielded ground is not code for the hot tub.

THWN/THHN is what you want. And no, you don't run another 12/2 UF in the same conduit. Size the cable to power all the expected loads and put a panel at at the tub end with two breakers. A 50A to run the spa and a 20A to run the outlet.

I agree, most of the spa disconnects are a small sub panel with space for a couple of extra circuits. You already have a 1 1/2 conduit in the ground, wont be a problem pulling the correct sized feeders

Thanks for the help, THWN/THHN is what I will be looking for, will size appropriately... Can I presume that most wire is dual rated? Both THWN and ThHN? I see lots of THHN wire , but not to much THWN......
Thanks

Yes. I can’t say I’ve seen THHN that wasn’t also THWN. THHN is a newer standard. There WAS THWN before THHN, but you probably won’t find that in a store.
