Thanks. I am not sure how I missed this. I can remember reading it and looking it up before, just couldn't grab it for some reason.

There is nothing I need to know in a crisis. I do know that locating a main not taller than I am is legal and I was somewhat looking for something to do when I posted the uffer question as well as double checking. I was curious as I remembered it was some odd numbered dimesnsion.
Most of it doesn't change, only a handful of things and on occasion the location in the book. Most people don't re read the book, they look it up after being notified on changes. I remember Aceman caught me on another forum when they went from 100 to 90 on the alum wire for panel to panel.
I read something on occasion if it interests me but my real code study days are well behind me. I havmt missed an entrance inspection in 30 years and the guy made me change something on a rough 20 ago and it was the first house I did in a while then.
The design looks like its sposed to, its got the right number of wires, the bond is correct, metal grounded, lugs tight, got the right ocpd and a couple ground rods. I leave a pile of old parts in the corner, have a box of staples, box connectors and some gfci laying there and at my age inspectors think I am an electrician and usually get a comment about the workmanship. I don't tell them any different unless they ask and I know a couple retired ones so the name game works. Well worn trade tools, professional battery tools probably add to the impression.
I don't hang out a sign, don't do it full time, stick with a few things for friends or jobs that others don't want to do. Turned down one the other day that was such a mess and didn't really have the time anyway, I should have snapped a pic of this dandy.
If I was 25 and going in would get a new book but will likely never buy a new one.

I am 6'2" so I center on my straight eye line. Seems to work ever where. On the re bar ground - I still install a ground rod, just my my way of doing things.I have seen many changes since I started in 1957.My last 9 years i worked overseas so I get confused some time's about where i am at.You go from 60c, 480 v 3phase 5 wire to 50c 380v 4 wire. Where all convience outlet are 2 wire 220 with only a round spot where the grounds connect. And no neutral.

Why would you waste money on an additional rod when not only is it not required but a UFER is far superior than rods.

What benefit do you perceive you gain by doing this?
