Was out clearing the driveway off and my son left the garage door open. Had a box full of misc. machine tooling (cutters, reamers, dowels, drill bits, spacers, etc. in an open drawer near the door. Needless to say they were covereded in snow...

So I actually rinsed everything off (not sure if that made the situation worse or not, but no more snow). Now what's the best way to dry them so they don't rust? Was thinking about putting them on a cookie sheet and throwing them in the oven on low heat for a while. Or maybe throwing them in a bucket of oil and deal with mess later? What do you guys recommend. There are A LOT of them (probably in the 1000s).

Thanks.

Put a lightweight machine oil or wd40 on them

Easiest to put them in a plastic tub and give them a spray and then rotate them

Thanks guys I got them spread out on a towel and they dried off pretty quickly. Going to give them a light coat of Rem Oil now.
