Thinking of adding a minispit to finished shop and not looking forward to seeing all the mechanical up and down the walls. Any good options out there? Minisplit plus three cassettes.

What kind of shop (structure)? What kind of walls?
I ran all the mechanicals behind the wall in my red-iron shop. But when finishing it, in intentionally framed out a little bit on the walls. And I used OSB panels, which are pretty easily removed.... "finished shop" implies to me that you've got drywall or other finished walls that are not easily operated on... and might not have enough space behind them for the mechanicals... I ran the coolant lines through 3" electrical PVC.

You can always run the mechanicals on the "outside" of the structure. Or create what by architect calls "furdown" paths that look like they (mostly) should be there...

They make raceways that hide it all and make it look at least neat and decent.
My neighbor put a couple minisplits in his house last year, each one feeds two or three head units. They have those raceways running on the side of the house, they're made of plastic and kind of look like gutter downspouts. While they're not things of beauty they're fairly unobtrusive. I suppose to a certain extent it depends on where they are located and the talent of the installer to make them look as good as possible.

Don't forget they can be painted. I've also seen a lineset that were hidden inside an actual downspout, run up to, but not connected to the gutters. I only noticed because I thought it weird there were two downspouts so close to each other, and looked long enough to see where the lineset left it. I suspect approximately no one else has ever noticed.

Thanks for the thoughts, interior is all sheetrocked and never considered boxing in the mechanical. Certainly would resolve remodel look. Kind of frustrated, told time and again that a minisplit wouldn't work in a fourteen foot high building. So did zero preparation, *****.

We put a my sushi, er, Mitsubishi inverter split system - so your research before you buy. This is one of those things where you really SHOULD cry once buy once - some of them are not only fragile as a kitten's kleenex, but drain your wallet faster than a hurricane drains a swimming pool.

recent gree minisplit on garage, had an option on line covers, or not.

I felt it best for longevity for the line set insulation to shield from the UV rays of the sun...
the line covers not really cheep, but they looked fine.
I will be taking some bronze wool to the open end near the condenser unit to hopefully keep dirt dobbers and vermin out of the line covers.
