UHMV for T-slots

I do a lot of drilling and cleaning the metal and aluminum chips out of the T-slots on the table is a pain.

I decided to make my life a little easier and cut some UHMW and inserted them into the slots. This makes cleaning the piles of chips off the table easy. The fit is snug, but easily removable. I also made them slightly lower than the surface of the table.

I also made a few different lengths to accommodate the vice/T bolts in various positions on the table.

That's a great idea. For whatever reason, I hate cleaning out my drill press table. What did you use to cut/shape the UHMV?

That's also a badass looking drill press.

I just used a table saw and cut down some 1” UHMW to fit the slots. I rounded the end with a 2x72 grinder and then cut them to length with a mitre saw. It was a quick and dirty job.
UHMW cuts similar to a hard wood.

Should have done this years ago!

I had the table top milled years ago so that I can tram my table perfectly level. Makes drilling deep items accurate and it allows me to power tap too!

Muggzy....thanks for the correct spelling! :lol_hitti

Awesome idea! I'm going to steal this for sure. You keep writing UHMV. I think you mean UHMW; ultra high molecular weight polyethylene [emoji106]
