Hello all! :hellobye:
Thought I'd introduce myself as I've been lurking in the shadows for a while admiring many fine garages on here and thought it about time I admit to my geeky garage addiction!
I'm truly in awe of the huuuuge garages most of you guys in the US have (and totally green with envy!). I'd love to have that kinda space to fill with tools and projects, but alas house prices in the UK are freakin' ridiculous so I'm just happy to have a reasonable sized (for the UK) one car garage that I can use as a workshop.
And here she is:
Garage-1.jpg
It's
It's only a measly 2.8 metres wide so it's distinctly pokey compared to the multi-thousand square feet places on here but is still wider than the garage I had at my last house which was a stupid integral garage in a new-build house that was only wide enough to park a car in but not actually be able to get out of the car!!
I'm currently in the process of fitting a whole new uprated power circuit and all new strip lights. The walls have been painted white and then when the weather allows I can sling everything outside and get the floor painted.

I should also say I'm a good friend of higgcreative also on here and am a fellow V-Dub enthusiast, so whilst there's no project in the garage at the moment, once it's sorted there'll be something of VW origins filling the space - most likely a SWB Beach Buggy as it'll be about all I can fit in there!

Anyway, thanks to everyone for postin pics of their garages and providing me with much inspiration. I love the whole Hot Rod scene/look and just wish we had such a fine supply of cool old motors over here.

I had a friend once who built VW race motors in one of those 8' x 10' metal buildings you can buy in a box at Sears. So building an entire VW in the space you have should be very doable. Good luck.

I did my Galaxie in a tiny one-car space. When I worked on it i could rest my back on the wall behind me! If you want to you can!!
