If you're in the UK and after some good quality tools:

1 Made in USA, from what I can gather newer versions are made in China.

2 Almost impossible to find Craftsman tools in the UK.

3 £69.99, works out at 40p a tool, which is pretty good value given they're US made.

VAT is only sales tax, so not a big issue, cost of housing is more pressing.

Tools4Trade are selling brushless M18 Fuel High Torque impact wrenches as bare units. 1/2" ones are £229 but sold out at time of posting. I just bought the 3/4" M18CHIWF34 (or 2764-0 for USA) for £225 as I already have a 3/4" to 1/2" impact adaptor and it's a bit more powerful anyway (1626Nm of "nut busting torque") so I shouldn't be any worse off even with the adaptor.
http://www.tools4trade.co.uk/milwau...pact-wrench-friction-ring-body-only-p-156531#

Chargers can be had for £24:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Milwaukee...Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item20e0f60f69

They also sell the 2.0ah batteries for £29.70:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Milwaukee...r_Tools_Batteries_Buffers&hash=item20e0b63e44

The 4.0ah batteries are cheapest from FFX at £65:
http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/...63 18v m18 fuel red lithium ion 4.0ah battery

I am going to get the charger and just a 2.0ah battery as I am just using it for fixing my own cars. Loosening 20 wheel nuts is the most I will be asking from it in one go. Will the smaller battery affect it's ability to loosen the likes of axle nuts?

For lighter duty stuff, I'll be using the M12 Fuel 3/8" impact M12CIW38 (or 2454-22 for USA) which I got from a private sale. Cheapest I've seen was instore at Eurocarparts for £155+vat but FFX are cheapest online at £196:
http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/...12v li-ion fuel 3 8in impact wrench 2 x 2.0ah

I just got the new M12BD (2604 for USA) screwdriver (as a bare unit (with case but no charger or batteries) for £49.99 from Tool Monkey. The listing has ended but they've run it twice so might run it again:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271419649109

I got a Milwaukee bit holder and set of bits for £5.69 to use with it:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Milwaukee...Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item19dc3818b4

Ok, enough from me!

Thank you euromerc for the headsup on the socket holders. I got 4 from my local store.

but don't forget you'll still have to pay import tax and royal mail charge an extra £8 per package on top to cover their costs for collecting the tax!!!

With Sears you can pay the duty and VAT up front, which I did, I don't know how they work it out but the whole lot was less than the VAT should have been, and it all arrived in 4 days with no dramas.

So I be looking at around £80 for a set. Bit too pricey for just my sockets. Rather buy another tool! Thanks for the information though.

Stanley 3/4" drive, 29mm socket for £2.19:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stanley-6...t=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item20de3c8497

I guessed it wasn't a 2 1/4" but bought it anyway on Sunday and it arrived by courier today.

I am looking for a 3/4" impact socket set. I will definitely need 24mm, 27mm, 32mm and 35mm sockets but the more the merrier. I think this set of 8 is the best deal I've found:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110983220802?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I'd welcome any advice on them or an alternative. I am also looking for impact extensions too, probably just one 3/4"
extension and a set of 1/2 ones. What are Sealey's impact extensions like? I am thinking of this set here:

Pretty much all my Air tools and impact sockets are from Sealey and they are still in good
shape after 7 years of fair DIY use.... including the long suffering 17mm deep impact
socket that all my families cars wheel nuts seem to need. The extensions have held up
just fine too...

I think impact sockets are one of those things that you don't have spend big money on
to get good enough quality and while Sealey aren't the cheapest, they're not far away
from it, but in my experience the fit and function are great and none have broken...
I definitely recommend them. I would imagine their 3/4" stuff is comparable.

Hi
Go for Chrome Molybdenum steel sockets & extensions if you can.

Chrome Vanadium steel is not as good.
