Homebase are closing a large number of their stores, everything is marked down at the ones that are closing, but also the shelves and shop fittings are being sold off, really cheap too.

Stanley Fatmax 18 Cantilever Tool Box Reduced from £40 to £30.

Seems to be an exclusive product to Screwfix. Do you think this is better, used as a DIY mechanics toolbox, than a similar priced conventional steel cantiler toolbox? Averaging 4.7 on reviews, if the reviews are legit. I don't know about the wisdom of it being water tight. If tools are stashed away with moisture, are they more or less likely to corrode, when it's an air-tight box?

The good tools seemed to sell out at just 10% off, just the junk seemed left at the end?

None remaining now!

I was just looking at some Bahco frames at my local DIY shop. Didn't seem bad quality, but £20! That Facom was a much better buy!

Lot of stuff on there, grabbed some Facom '440' spanners to try them out in common sizes (10, 13, 17, 19 mm). Currently I have the most mish-mashed collection of crappy spanners and wanted to try them out before I commit to spending lots of my hard-earned. Have to say so far I am impressed.
I've had my set of 440's for about 7 years now and I'm still impressed by them... I think Colin uses his professionally and never has a bad word to say about them either.

Damn good spanners.

If you're looking for a really secure padlock then this is a bargain:
Abloy 342 padlock with 3 keys £22.80 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231575144356?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Typically, I'd just paid more for one and then this deal comes up! I've built a bike shed in my front garden. I've used a ground anchor, a big security chain and one of these padlocks to secure my bicycle inside the shed. A massive pair of bolt cutters will get through it but it's still the strongest part of my security.
