Someone on hotukdeals mentioned that Knipex prices on Zoro are often better than Amazon. Not massive savings, but seams to check out. Obviously prices fluctuate, so the Amazon prices will sometimes dip below Zoro.

Laser 7119 Star Impact Bit Set, Assorted £21.01

EDIT. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Ebay prices are £50+. Cheapest I could find is Machinemart had them on clearance at £34.80. No idea if they are any better than uspro or bluspot alternatives that are about this price all the time.

Arrived today. Cardboard Amazon envelope, no packaging on the pliers themselves. Didn't get charged any duty or VAT etc.

Thanks, worth a punt. I've generally found laser to be better quality than the others you mention

Mystery Knipex side cutters. Not sure if the photo is accurate.

Knipex 27729 130mm Full Flush Electronics Diagonal Cutting Nipper £20.06

27729 is the Draper part number

The Knipex part number (from the handles) shows these on the Knipex website, so the sale may be for these, or something else altogether. :dunno:

Keep seeing items sold by Amazon 'EU' on Amazon 'UK.' I think Amazon EU is the Luxembourg head office that controls Amazon UK and DE etc.

Anyone know if these means the items are coming from outside the UK and may therefore have longer shipping times, extra import costs etc?

Longer shipping times, unless it states import costs you should be fine, it's only orders over £135 that have to pay import fees.

I've bought stuff from amazon DE never had issues and my order total was £88.

I've purchased from Amazon DE a few times. Just wondering what Amazon EU is. Is it as simple as all the Amazons in the EU? So the products could be shipping from any of the warehouses in Spain, Germany, France etc that have available stock? Are we seeing this after leaving the EU, or has buying from Amazon EU always been available?

Yes, amazon EU has always been a thing.. it's just never shown as we were part of the EU, Amazon EU is just where the item is stocked, also comes with different warranties, for example 30 days from Amazon EU on all items.. even if the item has a year or more.

Buying from the EU or anywhere else is now considered international so rules apply.

If anything it's just going to cost the end user more, as big shipments to UK warehouses will be charged VAT + Import fees which then is passed onto the end consumer.

Ah ok, thanks. I made a test order of about £150. Amazon auto adds import fees at checkout, so I guess at least there will be no surprises there.

I see that manufacturer's warranty may also not apply to international purchases. Not really an issue for hand tools as I guess any faults should be obvious, but it's something to be aware of for items that have a higher failure rate like electrical items.

Just have to be careful as well make sure it includes the tax otherwise you can be charged at your door step + some couriers are also charging fees due to the import process.

Not a deal, just something I haven't noticed before. Amazon is offering free delivery to amazon lockers on orders under £20.

Maybe they have always, done this, and I was not aware. :dunno:

Laser 7356 Star Bit Set 3/8" D 8pc £16.34

Only 2 left in stock.

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Normally £35+ so good price drop, but as posted before, not sure if they are a step-up from cheaper brands.

Krino 01155301 Set of 19 Cobalt Drill Bits for Corrected Stainless Steel £14.68

Only 2 left in stock.

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Another decent price drop. Again, not sure if they are good value even at the reduced price. If they are ****, then I guess they are not really worth buying at any price. If they are half decent cobalt drills then it's a good price. Mixed reviews. Pics on amazon show 'made in China' on the bottom of the box.

I bought the Laser torx bit sets, one for me one for my brother. Laser is generally ok especially for something like a long torx bit set you are not going to use that much.
Thanks for posting these deals.

Gents,

Hopefully not spam, but I thought this might be the most targeted space for it. I have a Boxford Industrial 280 metric screw cutting lathe (original 3-phase motor with a convertor so it will run off household power and has infinitely variable speed), and it's taking up space that I otherwise need. Wondering if there might be any interest here - collection near Huntingdon. PM me if you'd like any more info. Pic from when it was delivered to me (regrettably not much changed since then):

Poligrip Adjustable 'Cobra' in Chrome Vanadium Steel. Handles Coated in Thermoplastic Resin, Hardened Jaws. Eleven Possibility of Quick Adjustment by Means Spring Button, Use Also with One Hand. £14.70

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

I think the sale is for 250mm Cobras. Wrong image and weird description. One of the reviews confirms 250mm. Maybe something else entirely though. :dunno:

I don't have one
Makita are running a promotion at the moment on 18v and 36v gardening tools. Purchase a qualifying tool with battery and you can claim a free 5ah battery or 2x 5ah batteries if you buy a 36v tool.

I bought a brushless strimmer for a shade over £200 bundled with charger and 5ah battery and I've now got a freebie battery on its way to me [emoji106].

Looking at the bottom of the range mower, £350 gets you a mower (obviously), dual station charger and 4x 5ah batteries once you redeem the offer. The 5ah batteries would set you back £280ish on their own.

Obviously this isn't a gardening forum lol, the batteries are going to spend more time on my drill, impact driver and circular saw etc than in the garden but it's a good way of building up batteries on the cheap if you already need equipment for the garden.

Plenty of online retailers are part of the promotion. Not sure about amazon/ ebay etc. Screwfix are advertising it too. Wherever you buy from, don't forget the topcashback [emoji106]

I can't post a link as my post count is too low but googling makita free battery reveals all the info.
