Wiha Microfinish Screwdriver set. £16.85

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wiha-Micr...t=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2a28ed1e42

The picture is rubbish, but his feedback was good enough for me to take a chance at that price.

One thing I did notice is that some of the blades aren't lined up, rotationally if you see what I mean. Of course that doesn't affect the function.

For reference, the set has:

PZ1 x 80
PZ2 x 100
3.5 x 100
4 x 100
5.5 x 100
6.5 x 100

Fellow Hot Dealers,

I loaned my epic-deal £18 Blue-Point-branded Knipex Pliers Wrench to my brother in law. He's now after a pair for himself. If anybody spots a reasonable deal (say anything under £30 delivered), please post up!

I thank you for your time.

I think that was a one off never to be repeated mega deal!

BTW have you tried the Knipex Raptor? Any good?

Yeah I don't think we will see them anything close to that cheap again.

The raptors; I've tried them on the old Wolf grinder stand that I bought. It has a water trough with a drain plug/bolt in it. The stand is cast Al though, and the bolt is of course steel, so it seems it's welded itself into place. The raptors gripped like mad on an otherwise dodgy/part-rounded bolt, but there was no turning it. Even tried an impact driver and an impact gun to no avail - it needs to be drilled out.

I'll try and find something that's stubborn, but not impossible, to test them on again.

Guys,

I'll have some Hazet cantilever boxes and totes in stock early next week - items 190L and 190L-1. There's a couple of each already reserved and 8 off each still to go. If you're after one, drop me a line:

190L @ £45.60/ea

190L-1 @ £15.60/ea

Or £56.20 if you want both items.

Price includes delivery anywhere in the UK (incl. Northern Ireland) and VAT @ 20%.

Have you ever looked at german shops? I have had good luck with amazon.de or tbs-aachen.de delivering to Denmark.

http://www.tbs-aachen.de/Knipex_pliers/Knipex_Pliers_Wrenches/Knipex_86_03_250_Pliers_Wrench_nickel_plated_250_mm_i3172_43310.htm
Knipex 86 03 250 pliers wrench 38,72€ shipping to UK is 9,95€ I know it is a bit more than 30£ But you could order some other tools to spread the cost of shipping.

Cheers, but still more than I'd want to spend even ignoring the shipping.

If you had the sense you should have bought more at the time ;).
The seller even combined the postage.

I must admit that I am starting to get attached to them and keep finding more things for them to do. They are excellent for pressing in mini needle bearings and last night I used a pair to press the back, back onto a waterproof watch.

LOL - well I already had a pair so didn't anticipate needing any more than two :)

He's used them for rebuilding the forks on his Norton and finding them very convenient, plus no marking up the chrome.

Well I got my Record G clamps. Thanks to everyone that suggested them. I looked for the non-Irwin earlier ones and they're an amazing piece of kit. So solid and well made:

Another great addition to my slowly growing garage!

Still cheaper than the US Postal Service or Fedex/UPS. USPS had a 30-50% price increase on international priority shipping effective Jan 27, 2013. Will hurt the US Ebay sellers as well. SD

If anybody is looking for a shop press, SGS engineering has a sale on with free shipping on mainland UK. I've been told the quality of these presses is second to none within their price bracket. And a 10 year warranty to boot :shocking:

I particularly fancy the 20 ton one:

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/hydraulic-press/h-frame/shhp20-20-ton-h-frame-hydraulic-press

Now, any of you located in or close (en-route transit traffic) to Stranraer and willing to help? If yes, I might have found a way to dodge the £100 surcharge for shipping to N.Ireland

Royal Mail have just announced there updated pricing for 2013:

http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RoyalMail_OurPrices_April2013.pdf

Bit of a kick in the ********* for anyone who buys or sells on ebay.

Minimum charge for a small parcel sent second class is now £2.60 and is only covered up to a value of £20.

----

Who uses Royal Mail anyway? Their prices are absolutely absurd! Day light bleedin robbery

Soon to be a private entity anyway!

You should try someone like parcel2go.com as at least they provide a wide range of couriers to choose from and compare.

To deliver to or from Northern Ireland, economy couriers only become cheaper for items above 4kg. There also seems to be a lot of horror stories attached with economy couriers. Yodel are famous for chucking things over hedges. MyHermes are supposedly terible to deal with when something goes missing.

When I priced parceltogo last time, it was actually cheaper just to go direct to the couriers websites.

The cheapest courier I have found at the moment is the collectplus service, where you leave the parcel at a local shop.

But I still prefer Royal Mail and find them very reliable. 1st class stuff is almost always received on time and even stuff sent second class quite often is received within one day (I may well be lucky where I live).

Our regular postage man is a top chap and will set everything into the porch out of the rain and even sign for the recorded deliveries.
It beats waiting around for some of the scumbag couriers who ring your doorbell and then run.

(P.S. Welcome to the foum )

Britool 7 piece AF spanner set (£18.50 including P&P)-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-PIECE-COMBINATION-SPANNER-WRENCH-SET-3-8-3-4-BRITOOL-ND235C-/321089424737?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item4ac26bcd61

I don't know whether or not this is Britool England stuff, but at least it isn't branded Expert and either way, it is still a bargain.

Facom 9 piece spanner set in case (£45 Buy it Now or Best Offer)-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facom-440-JP9PB-Combination-Spanner-Set-9-Piece-Metric-440-JP9PB-/130866912914?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1e78469e92

Not the greatest price, but he may take a lowish offer

94 piece ¼ & ½ £35 from Lidl. Made from chrome vanadium steel and S2 steel. Looks very similar to Draper Expert, so maybe Danaher? Sells for £86 at Toolstation (bottom of page). Can anyone confirm the quality?

Gedore No.6 open ended set received today. Thanks to Millo777 for the heads up :)

Hazet 190 tool box, not sure where this is made but the quality is excellent. Possibly too good as the joints are so tight it doesn't close by lifting the handle. I'm sure it will loosen up over time.
Bought from Alx, (Milcraft LTD) originally had a problem with the shipment disappearing from UPS' tracking, but Alx sent a replacement quickly.
Excellent service, and I've bought other Hazet items from him before, so would definitely recommend Alx and Milcraft for Hazet tools .

Filled it with my most commonly used tools including Hazet offset wrenches, Bahco combination wrenches, the new Gedore open ended wrenches, Bahco socket set, Facom hammers, Wiha and Felo screwdrivers, Bahco adjustable, Wiha hex keys.
Don't want to add much more as my weedy little arms won't be able to carry it :D
