I use them as very small pry bars really, good for stuff like sunvisor clips etc.. If you need proper small screwdrivers i would look for a set from a decent brand like wera or wiha.

Yes, they are basically the same as Stahlwille.

VBW used to make Pliers for Stahlwille, but then Stahlwille bought them out!

Very good quality. The only thing I don’t like is that the regular/dip coated pliers, as shown in your first picture, have a very rough texture to the grip. Unlike Knipex or Channellock, who use a smooth vinyl, (or even the sticky Snap On grips) these VBW things are impossible to clean up and totally unsuited to a greasy/dirty environment.

I gues this is the sort of thing that designers working on a clean computer dream up when they’ve never had to use a tool for real.

The bigger / cushioned grips (as in the lower pictures) are better to use, if you can get on with them (not much good for fine control) and the price is superb!

The models with the cushioned grips are all chromed too!

The camelcamel tracker is useful if you are watching a particular item but i usually stumble across these when looking for something else. In this case i am trying to find a good source/deal for thr Gearwrench flex head ratchets, without much joy !!

They are not coated. They will be fine in a suitable environment e.g. inside the house, but they will suffer from corrosion if left in a damp shed, garage, etc.

I've had a set of these for a year or so sourced from Amazon and they are fine. I've found the Wera 'laser tips' to be a 'one use and throw away' as the tips are so soft, but these are much better. However I am in Germany at the moment, and they are widely available for €11 or so (Bauhaus, Zoro) so read into that what you will...

I don't know anyone who has these, are they good compared to Wera, Wiha ? But hey, Hazet its about a good a brand as they come. I have a bit of a screwdriver fetish and need any excuse to get these.

At £13, plus presumably shipping across to Ireland, I say go for it. I've got that set, and they're my "go to" in my mechanics tool box. They can be gripped without too much issue when you've got greasy hands, and do wipe clean after...unlike a lot of the upmarket screwdriver brands. I've also got a set of 'American Pro' from a car jumble for the, ummm, applications where you shouldn't really be using a screwdriver. Poking, prying and prodding.

thanks for the feedback folks. I have the Wera yellow chisel drivers which are good but i don't find myself going straight to them. I have Craftsman Acetates which are great for dirty jobs even if the tips are a bit soft and burr quickly. My favorite is the Stanley/Bost driver PZ2 VDE that these Hazets remind me of. Got it in the clearance bucket and B&q for 4euro and it grips brilliantly to the screws with no magnet and the handle just seems to be the type i reach for.

Also got this set at euro9.99 in Lidl a few years back that i keep in my tractor shed and they are great and have took a lot of abuse, but are hard to keep clean.

The normal (non VDE) set have the exact same handle design dimensions as the VDE versions (I have both) so you should like them just the same.

I've kept a set of the non VDE in the garage / shed for going on 10 years now and they've held up brilliantly.
