UL35 garage door opener compliant

Howdy,

My Daughter just bought a condo with two one car garages with no photo cell sensors. In the first two months, both openers are acting up and no one will work on them because they are not UL35 compliant. Does anyone know if the seller was obligated to replace them to code before selling the house?

It's UL325 - but no, you don't have to upgrade a whole house to the 'new code' because the codes have changed since the house was built.

A reputable garage door service company will take care of ya, but - that said, if it's pre-photoeye opener - it's unlikely they'll be able to get parts.
