A little bit of a stretch calling this a tool, but if you have a .22 this is a deal at $10.75 and Prime shipping:

I have an older orange one of these. It's a tad finicky; there's some finesse involved in using it, but once you learn how, it works fine. It's a hundred times better than hand-loading .22s, particularly considering how fast you go through them. Don't drop it on a hard surface; I could see it cracking.

I recommend it.

And owenst7 is right - 'magazine' is the correct term, but the device is called what it's called.

Thanks! I've had one of these in my cart forever. Looks like they are currently at 1mo until estimated ship.

I'm not defending the manufacturer, but if we're going to be pedantic...

A magazine is a thing thing that holds and feeds ammunition. A Cliploader is a product produced by McFadden machine to load magazines. As a product name it can be whatever they want. If they wanted to call it a TurdBurger, well, that's what it would be; The Ultimate TurdBurger.

They clearly understand the distinction. Title: "Ulimate Cliploader UCL22 Mag Loader". Description: "The Ultimate Cliploader will load a 10 round magazine in as little as 3 seconds. "

I'm a little torqued because I bought one when the price dipped to $16. A couple days after mine arrived it went to $10.75. Damn you Amazon!

I see this debate all the time. And the firearms manufacturers Are to blame. The manual for my 1952 remington 22 bolt action calls it a CLIP fed bolt action .22 with a 5 round clip. My 1967 Marlin model 70 Says CLIP fed semi automatic .22lr. With a 7 round CLIP. My 1966 Marlin model 60 says MAGAZINE fed .22lr Simi automatic. With a 17 round magazine tub built in. So that is where it all started. I posteded a scan of the Rimington manuel on a gun forum and it got promtley deleated by a mod.

Same here. Does not work with S&W 41 mags :(

I've been shooting my model 41 about thirty five years. :D

I've never even considered a mag loader for it though. It's got to be about the easiest 22 pistol mag design in the world to load, even with the scarce "hi-cap" pre-ban 12 round factory mags.

That little checkered double headed "thru the mag" pin in the follower is the key. Allowing you to grip the pin and and push down from both sides of the mag with your thumb and forefinger at the same time was a stroke of genius. I'm surprised that none of the other manufacturers ever copied it.

I'm well aware of that and do the same thing but the UCL would still be quicker and easier if it works as advertized.
