Making this so my guys don’t have to struggle as hard. 15 bay shop, operating at 150% capacity every day of year working on High end Mercedes cars, a Hyundai **** box to a tandem vac truck to semis
Truck we just carry or ram with a forklift off the rear hitch/bumper/frame
The cars they usually push by hand
Winter *****, snow, ice makes that a struggle
Vehicles not dropped near doors make that harder, as 7 acre lot also has an uphill to it
Stuck brakes/flat tires also make it more work/harder.
Thenthe crashed out or front end failures of tie rods and broken balljoints make it really hard

Got this burned out slide in unit for 250
Gutted the self Loader head off it and welder to a skidsteer Mount. Not done bracing it yet and have to do some repairs on the hydraulic wheel grids

Planning on running a manual double
Selector valve to control in/out/fold and then the wheel grids
Mounting to an l190 new holland so it has some *** on it

Work in progress, any pointers welcome

That's awesome. It's nice to repurpose garbage into useful stuff.

I thought this might be relevant to you. In this pic (testing my crane) I've got the back of my truck off the ground. The **** of the skid steer is still touching the floor. I measured 10.5 feet from the pintle hitch to the center of the skid steer front wheels.

Obviously it's easier to lift the truck by the bumper than the rear axle, but this setup sticks out way more than yours does, and with a smaller skid steer.

I think your setup will lift one end of just about anything (within reason of course).

Things not within reason I just carry in with my expensive ride

Very nice solution, ZK. That should work great on the C190.

Just one thought. You're Chicagoland area, so I imagine your shop works on its share of AWD, particularly in the higher end makes. Any concerns with only one end rolling? Or will those still be push-in-by-hand?

Pretty Much gonna go on a per use try as we go. Most will have a center differential that will take up the slack at 2mph less than 200’. See if they wanna lock up or not.

I would suggest using a forklift to drive it. That would be the ultimate car mover.
Our two large 5k and 9k forklifts don’t do that great in gravel lot in the snow.
Second they currently don’t have additional hydraulics. So we’d need to add a divertor valve onto the side shift hydraulics for the hydraulics on it to function, and none of that looks appealing

Forklifts **** in the snow and Chicago gets it's share.....Tracked Bobcat will tear through almost anything
Yup, other than rough on the ground. I've been keeping my eyes out for a loader to replace my Bobcat. There's one locally for 15k with a blown transfer case, but I can never get them to reply to the ads they put up.

True forklifts don't do well on snow or gravel.

However a forklift is much better for this kind of work - they are way more maneuverable in tight spaces, and much more precise.

They also lift much more than a skid steer for a given size. I would say even a large skid will struggle to lift cars out at that distance.

I moved my 30 foot boat and trailer around tonight with my forklift. I could pick it up and move it within just inches of where I wanted it to be. No way I could do that with a skidsteer.

We have both
The skidsteer does great for maneuvering. These are cars being moved to inside a building to on a two post lift or a flat bay. 6” doesn’t matter and we will still be able to get it perfect on a skidloader.
Large skidloaders with arms near ground lift a lot. Picture next week lifting a 3/4 ton pickup from back and a 1 ton service truck from front

The green striped hose on top of the cylinder. From the angle in the picture it looks like it could be vulnerable.
Pretty far away from all harm. I’m not worried about it

One small tweak I might change but picked this 3/4 ton front and rear.

Remember, I’m aiming this at CARS. Trucks we man handle by hitches but would be nice to grab one in the front with a damaged front end that doesn’t roll/steer
