There has been a couple of threads lately about storage cabinets so I tought I would post pics of the set I just finished installing. Ignore the mess that is present, still in the process of fitting up the garage so I can move my Chevelle in.:rocker:

Nice install...............I think I saw those at Walmart. Are they MDF/or similar with a laminate covering??

Just bought a mess of steel cabinets for my garage as well........assembly takes a while. :)

Love the floor too. What's it made of - tile of some kind??

Thx.

See ya. :hellobye:

I got them online, not sure if I can put the url here so PM me.

I saw the ones that were at Walmart and like alot of things Wally World carries they are not the same quality. The Walmart ones just use the cams and pins that are common with prefab furniture that thread into the MDF itself. The one`s I got use a pin with a tapered Set screw, The pins are threaded into steel inserts that are moulded into the panels. I was skepticle upon ordering them and figured I would return them if I thought they were weak. The panels are PVC coated MDF and alot harder, stiffer than other MDF I`ve seen. The floor is VCT.

Thx. for the info.......those are heavy cabinets in MDF. How did the get shipped/cost a lot for freight?? I picked mine up at Sam's Club (probably the only thing I'll buy with that membership) and the six steel cabinets/benches were ~1000lbs. on a small trailer. Ugh......a lot to manhandle. Good thing I had someone to help me.

BTW, not sure I know what VCT is? What's the acronym stand for?

See ya. :hellobye:

I got them from onewayfurniture.com, free shipping. Total wieght 1278 lbs, I used my tractor to move them and it was still a PITA. The Floor is standard Armstrong Civic Squares classic black #51910 and Classic white #51911 VCT (vynil composition tile) from Home Depot, cant go wrong @ $0.58 a sq/ft. I applied 4 coats of Armstrong floor polish and buffed it out with a rented buffer. It looks pretty good in the picture but it was actually very dusty when I took the pic. I dropped hammers and tipped one of the big cabinets over when I was installing them and the floor is fine its pretty tough.

Nice cabinets. I took mine a step further and added casters for mobility. It added some height but the convenience of being able to move them fully loaded is worth it. Sears closed these out earlier in the year at really low pricing. I had to drive around to different stores but it was well worth it.
