I'm thinking like lawn chair style but something that I could keep a couple in the garage attic for when me and my buddies hang out their drinking. Right now I just use some of those collapsible "bag" chairs but they aren't that comfortable (they do have cup holders though)

Any suggestions?

I bagged an high quality old office chair that is perfect for the shop its on wheels so it is easy to move if it gets in my way. Also have a couple of metal folding chairs when extra people are over. They stay stashed in a corner out of the way and don't take up any room.

I have a couple Zero Gravity chairs in garage. Have not found anything more comfortable in a folding chair and they lock in any position..Had them 6 years now.

I have a chair similar this one and I like it a lot but I wouldn't go as far as to say ultra comfortable.

I don't believe I paid anywhere near the price this one is listed for.

http://www.scheels.com/shop/en/sche...taineering-scheels-camp-chair-4882-8112202-e4

Also picked up some bag chairs at Camping World for half off that I like more than other bag chairs.

I found Scheels and Camping World to have the best selection for sit tests.

I built some pallet furniture for our patio this past summer. I built a chair, love seat and a couch. I bought some patio seat cushions and love how comfortable they are. They were super easy to build and only cost was the cushions if you or someone you know can sew you could even make the cushions cheap. With some casters they would be easy to move in and out when needed. Just let them out on the patio or yard when not needed in the garage.

I'll try to grab a picture tomorrow.

I have the same chair and I've fallen asleep in it.

Might be the Booze and the fireplace making you comfy. :lol_hitti

I've bought some used ergonomic commercial office chairs, they take up some room but are really comfy for the long thinking sessions.

These are the next best thing to my Lazyboy recliner!

The original were some French design and sold for over $200 !

I have one that I got at Costco or Sams. <$50 Very comfortable. Some of the joint are relatively small diameter bolts with acorn nuts. The nuts will loosen/fall off over time so you may want to put some Loctite on them from the get go.

I have a zero gravity. It is comfortable. I'll have to get another because my wife uses the one we have when hanging on the deck while our kid is asleep

I want to go test drive one of these at gander mountain.

I have a cruder version of this "director's chair" for camping. The cheap fabric/pole collapsible camping chairs were annoying my back (and I don't have back problems) and they were breaking (and I'm not THAT heavy) and I was tired of buying one every couple of years.

Somebody above did post a director's chair, but this has a table. And that's pretty danged handy.

LLB is expensive; I've seen similar at sporting goods stores for less. On the other hand, LLBean has a forever warranty.

For sheer snoozy laziness:

The zero gravity chairs you guys are talking about, is there a brand or what? I am finding everyone sells "zero gravity" folding chairs, but they all look different. Prices are all over the map too. I would prefer to buy a good one rather than spend money on more junk.

After 30 years fo attending and participating of different kinds of racing, I've had a lot of folding chairs. GCI Pico Director's chairs are the most comfortable I've ever used. Most camp sling chairs make you "sink in" so they're hard to get out of. Ones with full frames pinch the back side of your thighs and cut off the circulation to your feet. Ones made out of coated fabrics don't breathe and you get sticky and sweaty.

They're not cheap, but they're good.

I have 2 milk crates, 2 padded backless barstools and a whole stack of 5 gallon pails.
And the benches. I am comfortable on all of them. Genetics rules! ;-)

Where did you buy yours from? It looks like it would work for what I am wanting. Fold it up and hang a pair on the wall of the garage.

For some reason certain chairs take out my back almost instantly. My Dad has an office chair at his house and when he needs tech support, I end up leaving with a back ache.

Strouty, the chair I bought i got from Walmart in the lawn/garden section for about $45. The wife had one at the lake that she paid $85 for, but it has a pull out drink holder underneath. The biggest thing I see in the various models is the method of drag device used on the action. Some cheaper versions do not lock as well. You simply sit in it with your heels on the footbar and lean back, and adjust the effort of movement with the drags under the arm rests. I was serious when I stated it was the next best thing to my Lazy Boy. The zero is the type of chair that will put you to sleep. They are also available in an oversize version for larger guys.

Thanks, I will check them out, I need something that reclines and can be put away, so it should fit the bill well.

I have this La Jolla Plush folding recliner by Prime Products for RV-ing. Ultra comfortable for what it is. Not sure I'd want it in a shop where it can get dirty or damaged but if you can store it away, then great. I keep mine in a storage bag when not in use.

I have a variety of stacking plastic chairs. Which ones come out is totally dependent on the quality of drink the visitor brings.. If they intend to just drink my stuff they stand...

GCI Outdoor sells direct from the website link I posted. I got mine at the Spring Carlisle a few years back with show special pricing of around $40.00 off and they came with a carry case that flips over the top and has storage pockets.

I have seen them at Campmor and Amazon.com also has them.

I have an Ethan Allen recliner and a zero gravity chair The biggest difference I see between them is the zero gravity chair is much easier to adjust. Right after having surgery, when I was in gobs of pain, I could easily sit down and get the zero gravity chair into a comfortable position... I couldn't do that with the Ethan Allen chair. The zero gravity chair also has a larger range of positions. In our case, both chairs were similar prices, but the zero gravity chair is much more comfortable. Check out this interesting video about 5 Fast Facts of Zero Gravity Chairs.

Four Seasons Courtyard Deluxe hard arm sports chair. I bought mine at my local True Value Hardware store. They fold, store in a bag, have 300 lb. capacity, drink holder built onto frame and the framework allows you to get your feet under the chair to stand up. That makes standing up from the seated position much easier. Most of those bag chairs have frames that are in the way. CJDave.

I got a half dozen of the best garage chairs made......because they are stacked up on the patio and not taking up my space. When we hang out I just move them inside the shop.

Strongly agree with this..

I have 2x 25 year old lafuma zero gravity chairs that are still going strong. The new one I bought for big bucks about 5 months ago has already had 2 failures and I use this chair indoors. Meanwhile other off brands of zero gravity are holding up better..

Lafuma.
Used to be a good company to work with, but seems to have gone downhill since they started selling direct to consumer.
