Hi all, I am looking at buying a Vevor ultrasonic cleaner. Right now they have them on sale. I am wondering what size to get as it comes in liter size. My main plan is to clean mower and small engine carbs. I do not to small in case I need it for something bigger but not a big unit. Any advice and what to look for? Thank you

/the only fluid you should not use in your ultrasonic cleaner is anything flammable. I use have used EVAPORUST. The ultrasonic action is many times faster for Evaporust.
Simple Green works really well. You do not have to fill your ultrasonic tank with a cleaning agent. I like to put small parts in a ZIP-LOC bag with the cleaning agent and put the bag into the tank. I stay away from glass containers. I have experienced glass breaking.
BESTADVICE!! Buy the biggest unit you can afford. There will be more than a few times when you will need the bigger tank, An ultrasonic system works better with heat. My ultrasonic if 30 liters. (+/-) 34 US quarts)

I have the reverse advice. Ziplocs and other plastics block the ultrasonic waves more than glass. Small baby jars, mason jars, etc are all easy to use for me.

Overall, my first go to for most things is hot water with a decent splash of dish detergent. Does a pretty good job degreasing by itself. Make sure you clean the sludge off the bottom.

The problem with the small units is they really are not powerful enough. I have a Crest one about the same size as isb's

https://store.crest-ultrasonics.com/collections/benchtop-cleaners/products/p1800d-45 Mine is an older version with mechanical timers instead of digital.

I use the same soap that is in my Safety Kleen aqueous parts cleaner. There are a bunch of different soaps available depending on what you are cleaning.

Heat is a definite must.

Do you have and use an ultrasonic unit? Picture, SVP.
I don't.

James Codon does ! He has cleaned 100s of small carburetors on his YouTube channel. His "go to" cleaner was Harbor Freight Degreaser until about 6 months ago. They changed the formula and the new formula now cause a chemical reaction (corrosion) with the carburetor body.

We have the 30l unit. Thing is great, and we use simple green solution.

I paid 280 for it a couple of years ago and I see they're 235 now on Amazon.

My buddy uses' white vinegar for cleaning carburetors. Seems to work pretty good. I have no experience with any type of cleaners. Besides the vinegar.
