Hey guys

If you were to go out and buy an ultrasonic cleaner, what would you get?

I'm looking for one to just clean small engine carburetors and parts. Would like to have one that heats, has a drain and with electronic controls.

Thanks

I have a vintage, laboratory-grade Branson ultrasonic cleaner with heating. It’s not large — probably 7x7x5”. It’s built like a tank and will no doubt outlast me.

I’ve used commercial/lab ultrasonic cleaners for years and I’d have a tough time moving to one of the cheap consumer versions. They seem like toys by comparison.

I’d start hunting for old lab gear on CL, FB Marketplace, or one of the many equipment auction sites.

Mine came from Amazon or Vevor a couple of years ago. It’s a generic import, probably about 2 gallons. Fits a Holley double pumper, but I mostly use it to clean small parts.

Hasn’t failed yet, although I don’t expect a long life out of it . It was inexpensive, and with the thin stainless et al, doesn’t make a good impression as to quality.

On the other hand, it still works, so it will soon have earned its keep, if it hasn’t already.
