Ok so I am trying to wrap up this marquestte jack. Got the pump back and what I want to do is mock it together to refresh my memory, as I started this project a while ago. After mocking it together, I will then disassemble paint, and reassemble.
So here is my problem, and I am hoping someone here can help. I am now trying to put the side pieces on, and I need to extend the ram, but I dont know how.

I am pretty sure I am looking at the threaded rod at the back or the piece that has the hole in it, but do I push pull or just pray?! I did try pushing/pulling the threaded rod but with NO luck.
Thanks if anyone can shed some light on this for me.

Looking at your pictures, it looks to me like either the ram assembly or the lift arm is upside down. Try pulling out the pin that joins the two and flipping one. If nothing else, it will get things oriented correctly.

My second thought; is there jack fluid in the ram part? Since you tried the threaded rod and it didn't work, try the larger one with the hole in it. Figure you have to lift whatever the jack is rated for, and even with hydraulics, you are going to have to use some effort. The threaded rod part doesn't look like it would take that much force.

Anyone else that has more knowledge and/or experience, please jump in.

IMO,, it should be the large shaft with the hole in it. I'd look at the handle and how it works to figure out how to get the ram extended. I agree with KRB it's going to take a fair amount to move the pump

Thanks for the replies! Just changed the jack arm to the proper (I think) orientation, and starting to reassemble. As I add each piece its getting heavier. Still unable to get the ram to move out, or in, and now onto the handle.
Again, thanks for the input!
