Unable to log on.

I have not been able to log on to GJ from my work computer since Friday.

Because it's a potentially shared machine (no one but me has ever used it - but it is possible that someone else could), I don't check the "remember me" box like I do at home.

I have never had any issues with it before (apart from the annoyingly short time given before having to log in again).

I do the same as I have always done and I actually see the message that says I'm logged in - then it just goes back to the login screen.

I tried clicking on the "contact us" button, but it just gives me the login prompt as well.

If it wasn't for my tablet and desktop at home being left logged on, I would probably be one of those members that seemingly just stop posting and disappear from the GJ.

I can still read threads but cannot participate.

Is there a contact other than what I was trying (email, etc.)?

When you log in, can you see and read the Free Parking ?

Is it possible that IT where you work has done something with your system to not allow cookies (or something similar) that might keep you logged in ?

Could also be an issue with how many devices you keep with stay logged on as multiples may play an issue letting you access the site.

Thanks for the suggestions - the problem has gone as quickly as it appeared , so I guess we'll never know what caused it.

I always have mixed feelings when things "fix themselves".

I thought about that Eric, but it only affected GJ (I could log on to other forums) and generally if the system won't allow access to a particular site, it will come straight out with an "access denied" warning.

I didn't look for free parking when I was locked out, but I could read all the normal garage threads.

If it was to happen again, can Ryan be contacted by other means (other than a PM - which you have to be logged in to do)?

Hey Simon, I only have my tablet permanently logged in and my home desk top set as "remember me" (so when I click on GJ, I'm automatically logged on when it opens) - but that's the same as I've always had it.



Anyway, it's working again now - so, hopefully (fingers crossed) it won't be an issue.

If you need I have an email contact for Ryan that you could use but you need to contact him that way 1, only as a last resort and 2, using the email address you use for contact with the GJ. If you need PM me for it. Although it sounds like a hick up in the system that has gone away.

You may have as Eric stated cleared cookies and it has taken some time to rectify mind you clearing cookies is a good thing except you have to log on to the forum after you have cleared them.
