You are finally seeing why I buy Cman and sold all my SO stuff. And I only tried to warranty stuff bought from the truck.

I figured you only bought from the Harbor Freight Truck, I see you also visit the Craftsman truck all while working out of your barn.

This thread reads to me about the same as buying a one year old car off of an individual, then going back to the factory and complaining that the color is not what you wanted. If SO really wanted to push it, they could change their policy to warrant items that were purchased by the original purchaser. The same policy that almost everyone else has no matter what the item is.

All mobile Snap-on distributors ****!! :spit:

Let's put this into perspective:

1.0 You buy a used Snap-on wrench off of Ebay which is clearly defective from the picture by your standards (scratches and broached off center)?

2.0 You take it to a Snap-on distributor who is trying to run a business and make a living so he can replace it for a new wrench (at some cost to himself) and you can post about your exploits here?

3.0 Then, you state "All mobile Snap-on distributors ****!!" because he told you to have it replaced where you bought it?

Is that about it? Because:

"Snap-on warrants to Customers who purchase Product from authorized Snap-on distribution channels for use in their profession that Snap-on® brand Products and Blue-Point® brand Products will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a duration described in each Product's warranty code."

The ebay seller has a very good picture by ebay standards, but the defect is not clearly visible in the seller's picture. Here's a link to the prior auction with the defective wrench:

He's a very good seller by the way; he just overlooked a defect that's not vividly obvious unless a person knows what they're looking for.

Merk,
I looked at my wrench and have figured out the reason. The 15* offset is not perfectly level after the offset. That causes it. Mine is not bad and I don't use it much. It's also the 2nd 7/16 wrench I have. I use the FD Plus wrench more.

BTW,
That was a good price for those wrenches.

Granted, although the picture is not as clear as it could be, you can see defects.

Anyone can take quality pictures with today's inexpensive digital cameras. When you see a blurred picture like this one on Ebay, you know the seller did it intentionally to hide defects.

Peace. I just thought you should ease up on Snap-on distributors. Many of them do a great job despite the fact that this is not an easy time to run a small business.

I'd say he overlooked a defect no one but you cares about:thumbup:. I suppose you think it might break, whoopee, you'd get a new one even from the guy who wouldn't warrantee it

I buy a few things from Harbor Freight about twice a year, I have alot of Cman hand tools, I buy alot from the Cornwell truck. The "barn" as I call it is a large old building with garage doors, good lighting, plenty of electric, etc...nothing special compared to my old shop, but it is all I have right now, until economic times change. I'll get around to taking pics, I just got in from the shop 12a.m. LOL and have been going since 8 a.m. LOL lucky I even have time to check on this forum for a few. If you were being "smart"........I may not have fancy Snap-on tools anymore, but I can still back-up my "autoace" title, there is no Snap-on tool that makes someone a pro mechanic, if that were the case I would not be soo busy. Later:)

:lol_hitti I already know you are an accomplished mechanic.....when I get on the Cornwell truck and look through my Hazet catalog, I dream of the day all my hand tools will be from these places, but I need an addition, lifts, more high tech equipment, "luxury" hand tools are what I pass up for now.:( I won't even replace all my Cman tool boxes until the garage and new lifts are done.:dunno:
