Looking for a under hood work light. Needs to be very bright and clamps on to the hood of a vehicle. What have you guys used that you could recommend for every day use. Thanks in advance.

I have the BluePoint 128 LED and Snap-on 14.4v, both worked well.

The only problem I have with the BluePoint is that it takes longer to charge the battery than it lasts while in use (not really a problem if you're close to an outlet), which is why I bought the Snap-on because the 14.4v battery packs charges in less than 1 hour and provides 4 hours of runtime.

There is also an led version that is 10 bux cheaper. Not sure how bright it is though. My fluorescent is nice and bright and stays cool so no risk of burning yourself with incandescent or halogen bulbs.

I've used the central perch underhood light for more than a few years, and I'm quite happy with it. I also find myself using my M12 stick light for quick tasks.

I really wish Milwaukee would come out with one of these. I've always got a few spare M12 batteries charged, and the LEDs in their stick light would be great for this application.

I need to look into one of those. I tried the harbor freight one cause it was cheap with the coupon. Horrible light. Too focused in a strip and not very bright at all. Took it back and got the composite ratchets. I kinda liked that led drop light realtoolreviews reviewed one time, but its not easy to find.

edit: stubby 2 led drop light.

Mountain has a 39 watt flourescent, MT39, that looks best to me. Lots of flood, common tube easy to replace, lots of light, not hot or too big.

I agree! I have emailed them a couple times suggesting that they consider it as well.
