Thought this was a pretty good deal, so I figured I'd share it with GJ:

I would just save the money and get something much better like Milwaukee M12 lightstick or M18 flood light LED. I have something similiar and you're stuck w/o light if you forget to charge. However, for the milwaukee, you simply swap out the battery.

I bought this along with the large proto ratcheting wrenches a while back. It throws a lot of light, and I've been very impressed with it. My only gripe would be the quality of the flimsy plastic hood hooks on each end. The spring is almost too strong, and hooks too flimsy so it pulls itself off the hood every 15 min or so. However, my brother and I were able to time a Chevy blazer in the middle of the night in the yard with it. Its a great deal.

Harbor Freight has a similar 120 LED light for $34.99. Using the 25% coupon brings the price close to $25. The HF light is similar in dimension but at each end it has a plastic magnetic 'foot' that pulls off and can attach to metal. Works much better than the hooks on the northern tool light.

I agree if you're only going to have one worklight. However, for $25 it's definitely worth a shot. I have a dedicated corded work light already, so this is more for not having to deal with cords getting in the way while working under the hood.

Thanks for the info, that's very helpful! All the reviews on NT say the same and that the charge lasts for a good while. Can't wait to get mine.

That one looks nice too! You can never have too much light, so maybe I'll pick one of these up as well. Thanks.

I looked at the HF last time I was in the store, and just didn't seem like it would be putting out that much light. 310 Chinese lumens is what I get from a $6 1xAA flashlight.

Do they have stores? It's a good price if they have stores.:bounce:

Otherwise they (harbor freight and them) hit you with that brass knuckles to the teeth shipping cost which is only okay if you order a lot more than I tend to order.:D

Have you ever bought anything from HF online?

They have a $6.95 flat rate shipping charge. Even for the floor jacks... $6.95.

I havent used mine on a project yet, so I cant talk about battery life, but the light level is great. I took mine out the other night and put it on the engine bay of my truck and it was more than enough light to comfortably work in.

I bought one of the HF lights on sale with a coupon a couple weeks ago. Switch setting has 2 positions. The second click is very bright.

It works good.....for a 25 dollar light.

This. He's confusing them w Northern alone whose shipping is expensive.

Not to mention, you can just type the coupon code in during checkout and use all your coupons as well. There really is no need to go into HF unless you need your stuff immediately.

Darth Vader called looking for his light sabre. Please return it. People complaining about shipping costs will need to cover the postage to return it to the Death Star.

Seriously, I have been using smaller versions (I don't do under the hood stuff) so I can see why these would be a nice addition.

I have a Zebralight headlamp kind of like this one:

http://www.zebralight.com/H52F-AA-Floody-Headlamp-Cool-White_p_132.html

I epoxied a rare earth disk magnet to the endcap and it has been very useful in that configuration with a nice wide flood, admittedly from a point source, but it is very compact and can be kept in the truck.

The arm looks like a useful piece as well when you need those odd positions.

The strip light has a much wider emitter area so it is less likely to throw a harsh shadow compared to any flashlight.
