Anyone use an under vehicle mat to absorb oil or other fluid leaks? I am looking for something to place under a tractor. Recommendations?

+1 on cardboard. Use a big box, cut the corners so it's just a flat piece, and recycle when it's done its job for a while, start a new.

Cardboard, with a couple of puppy training pads laid on top... absorbent, sealed on the bottom side and cheap...

How about the thin pans they sell at NAPA and TSC that are specifically made for that purpose. They are reuseable and are easy to clean-up. YMMV.

Scraps of osb. I used cardboard for a bit but the wind would always blow it away.... though I HAD a 1/2 sheet of 3/4" OSB under a car this winter and it blew away and flew into my neighbors house!

+1 on cardboard

My dad uses the heaviest, thickest cardboard he can find under his Caterpillar D2.

What kind of tractor do you have?

Carpeting scraps.
Or if you want a clean and neat edge get the carpeting samples from the books the sales guys use.
Depending on how bad it drips you could even buy color matched car inserts.

These are all good ideas, I am looking for something that is fairly neat to look at.
What is the size of the huge cookie sheet?
May just buy the absorb mat.
Either way I may use some Velcro to old it in place.
Don't have the "coolest" garage, but I am kind of **** for neatness and appearance.

Get plastic truck bed liner cut every thing off but the floor if on one end its not raised seal it with silicon so the oil won't run out. When it needs cleaned wash it off with simple green etc. It will last for ever and won't bleed thru like cardboard or carpet. But its a pain in the **** to get rid of the rest of the bed liner sides.

I've seen the OSB and cardboard trick used many times, works damn good and simple. I was going to link the oil pig stuff, some really great stuff there. We use some of the white and blue pads/socks on clean ups/spills at the FD.

I considered buying one of these when changing trans fluid. I'd stick the regular drain pan inside and allow the bigger pan to catch the excess. I just don't know it will react to oil products. Some oil dry could be put in to keep liquid "down".

Wal-Mart sells Made in USA drip pans in the automotive section. I line mine with pig pads, but have used cardboard in the past.

+1 cardboard box.

The big screen tv boxes are great. I have one the covers the floor between the wheels of my jeep from the front bumber to the back.

:+1: to the cat litter and shallow pan idea.

But go to a restaurant supply store. You can get large baking sheets (don't know the size but they just barely fit into a standard home oven) and fill with cat litter.

I have used this in the past. Cheap and works great!

An alternative on the huge cookie sheet. Blitz drip pans available at WalMart and just about any auto parts store.

Random photo of one I found on Google images. 25" x 36".
