Yes i have installed several different types cfls to hid all a big PIA two problems always arise
1) the lenses (remember their thick enough to walk on) get hot and with hid really hot. unless you want to cook burritos while your working not good
2) when you change the lamp or ballast if you dont get the sealing gasket installed correctly then fluid can leak into the fixture and depending on what kind of fluid something bad is about to happen.
3) the best design installed IMHO is about 6" above the floor a box out is made (looks like a stem wall) flourescent fixtures installed flush with drywall and adjustable deflecters not cheap at all. $$$
4) drop cord is generally used as a nonexpensive safe alternative.
5) reflective flooring is always a plus

No pictures, i never have taken pictures of jobs i have done. never needed to. But i can tell you that the depth of garage was 21' and i left 3' at each end with no light and used 5 fixtures 3' long @ $285.00ea that was 10 yrs ago. guy had a show truck and wanted lighting to show it off.
